Cracks and Checking
Log furniture is subject to natural checks and cracking. It happens when moisture is released from the wood as it seasons. Cracks can appear as small slivers or run the full length of the log. Cracks and checks do not affect the strength or integrity of the wood. They are perfectly natural and add to the rustic, authentic beauty of the furniture.
Insect-Resistance and Durability
Northern White Cedar is used for everything outdoors from fences to furniture, boats to buildings. Lightweight and long-lasting, it is naturally resistant to decay and insects.
Care and Maintenance
Northern White Cedar Log Furniture can be left to weather to a silvery gray, or it can be finished with a high-quality, outdoor-grade penetrating oil, water seal or paint. For longest life and maximum enjoyment, you can store it in the off season or protect with a furniture cover. You can also power wash the furniture (low pressure) to clean it and help re-whiten the wood.
