Comments about Product: So disappointed after having purchased this product, which quickly failed. The weldings of one of the inner spinner blades failed, causing the inner spinner to hit against the main spinner. It's a materials failure caused by poor spot welding of areas of high stress.
Comments about Product: We do not recommend to buy this product. The company does not stand behind their name. We purchased this product and within a week the pole bent over where the threads are to put them together. So my husband bought some heavier poles and then one of the petals came loose from the center of the clover and the company wont replace it cause we altered their pole. So I would not buy anything else from this company!!!!!!!!
Comments about Product: Torn between a thumbs up and a thumbs down. This is a heavy duty item with the exception of the three piece pipe assembly which is too flimsy for the overall product. Pipe pieces have internal threads and use an internal threaded coupler to join the three pipe pieces together. The coupler is just a little too small in diameter to effectively do this and the threads slip (not strip) keeping you from getting a solid connection. In time the weight and torque of the cloverleaf fins will make the pole pieces lose and the pole will then bend at an angle.
Solution was to buy a heavy duty plastic pipe 3/4 inch diameter and 5 foot long from a hardware store and cut off about 4 inches with a steak knife (not the white PVC water pipe). Paint the pole the same color (Automaotive Spray Paint), and slip it over the the retightened pole assembly - looks pretty good. Cost of pipe was 2 dollars, and paint was 7 dollars. Made it all worth while.
Also before assembly you might want to use plumbers Teflon Tape on all the threads to keep them from vibrating loose over time.
I bought three of these Cloverleafs and think I'll repait them Red, White, and Blue...
Overall, with the fix I did I am very happy with the end product.
Oh yeah - you might also want to put a daub of Petrolatum Jelly on the top pole piece to aid in long term easy movement.
Comments about Product: I still love the size and look of this spinner. Unfortunately I can't use it, because the nut and screw won't stay together. Every time it spins the nut falls of and the spinner falls apart. Went to the hardware store, trying to find a solution to the problem. It still doesn't work. I'll be returning this item.
Comments about Product: Ordered this but could not put it up right away. When I did very disappointed to find out the bearing the large clover spins on is warped. Don't know if it got bent in shipping and that did it or what, but by the time I opened it was probably past the time limit to send back. Its up in my yard but doesn't spin or if it does it goes halfway and stops. Unhappy.
Comments about Product: This is in the vinca that surrounds my in ground swimming pool. When i first put it up, the inside wheel didn't spin, so I loosened the acorn nut. Soon it fell apart. My son (smart) put something inside the acorn nut to keep it tight but not so as to pinch the wheels. having fixed the spinner, we have had no problems with it, and enjoy watching both wheels spinning. A suggestion would be to have more than one leg to put into the ground 3 or 4 would make it more likely to withstand wind from all directions. This said, I love it as does my wife.
Comments about Product: So excited when I ordered this to put near my barn.Had trouble getting it to stand straight because of the weight of the top but finally got it. also made sure to put it together WITH a wrench to ensure tightness because honestly the set up of the spinners made me a little nervous. But .... didn't matter. After so many spins it unscrews itself and the parts fly everywhere. Then, after finally going to the store for new bolts ( because the original were just gone)... the wind takes it and topples it over AGAIN which is very easy because the top is so large and not supported well by the stand, again losing parts.
waste of money.
A better stand and attachment bolts are needed.
Comments about Product: We have had this now for over 6 months; it looks amazing, spins quite easily, even with a mild breeze, holds up to strong canyon winds, each part spins independent of the other, and since it has a "rudder" it turns itself into the direction of the wind and spins beautifully. I would highly recommend this one over all of them! I own two others and have had absolutely no difficulty with any of them!
Comments about Product: Spinner looks great, looked better on TV (ordered from QVC) Should be perfect for large back yard, lots of wind in Henderson, NV. But, when I got it assembled, the large spinner make a knocking noise when moving. Reassembled twice, using parts in different order, no change. Bad bearing on large spinner. Also, large spinner blades were bent and scratched. Returned for replacement, cannot recommend until I receive a working unit.
Comments about Product: Unit is very striking, and spins like a generator, HOWEVER, the base stake is just TOO SMALL to handle the weight of the spinner. Ours actually broke at the threaded connection, allowing the spinner to crash to the ground and destroy itself! Plow and Hearth gave us a full refund, however, and we will appy it to a smaller yard spinner. Thank You, Plow and Hearth...
Comments about Product: I ordered this for my fiancé for Xmas and it took 2-3 months to ship and charge me, very disappointed with the billing and shipping process, the product looks nice but we haven't opened it yet because it isn't Xmas yet...we will see if that is worth the wait
Comments about Product: It spins 24/7. I love the clover spinner so much, i decided to get another one for my hushand's office as to let the customers know where is our building located. Great energies for float of business.
Comments about Product: This was purchased with the Kinetic Spinner as a birthday gift. The CLOVER SPINNER (as likely all the spinners in this catalog) is copper like, with the copper look coming from paint. The MFG painted the shaft that the Clover Flower was to spin on. We had to take the paint off the shaft so it would go through the bushings. The Clover Flower is too heavy for the spindly post they send to mount it on, thus it pitches forward and does not spin. We have many other spinner decorations in the yard that will be spinning but not this baby. It is a rip off.
Comments about Product: Purchased to be used in veggie garden. Moved the piece about 3 weeks after purchase. The welding, which was now rusted, for the part that goes into the ground broke off. (Ground was moist so that was not the issue.) Customer Service excellent about sending another part to replace, but it was frustrating that it broke after such a short amount of time. I question the quality and durability at this point, especially for the price I paid.
Comments about Product: The metal looks painted so nice from a far but looks cheaper as you get closer. Cost high for something that just looks pretty. Wanted the movement to deter animals from our garden. It only really spins at above 30mph so we have renamed it the hurricane spinner. Even the center section that is lighter doesn't spin that often. Big disappointment from this company.
Comments about Product: Was well packaged and easy to remove. Absolutely no instructions came with product, a huge disappointment from this company. I called and was told I would receive instruction in 10 minutes. I had to contact them again to obtain instructions. By that time, I figured out how to put it together and did it right.
I would have given 5 stars if not for this infraction. Once put together, it just works so well. Fast or slow, it spins with ease and is very very stable. You will be delighted to have this in your garden.
Comments about Product: My husband gave me this wind spinner as a Mother's Day gift. It was in pieces before Father's Day. Out of the box, a major piece had not been welded. We took it to a welder and had that fixed. For the two weeks it worked, it was very impressive looking. Then I found a piece of the outer "flower" on the ground, twisted. A couple of days later, the whole thing fell apart.
Comments about Product: Spins effortlessly, have considered purchasing the necessary accessories to sell green power back to our electric utility. :-)
I gave this to my 32 year old son for his birthday hopeful he would like it and knowing that it would be a wonderful gift for my precious 15 month old Grandaughter, she (and her Daddy) love it. Turns out it was a home run, Mommy enjoys it too. Great gift!
Comments about Product: The Clove Spinner is beautiful but ours came in with a broken clover, looks likely it was poorly attached, there were no instructions in the box (doesnt look too complicated but it would have been nice to reference to something, rather than just guess), there were loose parts on the bottom of the box that i could have just easily tossed and no return label form to send it back.
Comments about Product: I have this on the lake side of our house along with another Plow & Hearth wind spinner. It is very impressive and I love watching it spin. It was also easy to assemble. Highly recommend it!

The Olla: A Brief History
Olla (Spanish, pronounced “oh-ya”) jars have been around since ancient times. Made of unglazed ceramic, ollas traditionally have short, narrow necks with wider bodies, and are made in a variety of shapes. They have been used for thousands of years for cooking, storage, and plant irrigation.
When used to irrigate plants, an olla is buried neck-deep in the ground near a plant’s roots, with the opening of the olla extended above the soil so that it can be filled with water periodically. The porous walls of the unglazed pottery allow the water to seep through gradually, constantly and consistently hydrating the plants without overwatering them – and without wasting precious water to evaporation or runoff.
The use of ollas for irrigation was introduced to the American Southwest by Spanish conquistadors during Colonial times, becoming very common among Native American tribes and Hispanic settlers. Though the technique gave way to more modern methods of irrigation some time ago, its superior efficiency, coupled with its simplicity, has caused it to make a comeback. Though the technique has changed little since its introduction, today’s ollas are usually capped off, making them even more water-efficient.
Perfect for home gardens, Ollas are a super-easy, eco-friendly, less time-consuming way to water annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and plants of all kinds in dry, sandy soil, very hot or drought-prone areas, raised beds, and even pots, planters and hanging baskets. Fill the olla before you leave on a short vacation to enjoy worry-free watering – and a smaller water bill!
