Comments about Product: I assembled and installed this spinner and globe the day it arrived in less than 20 minutes. After a little adjusting to "catch the breeze" right, and to make sure the globe gets enough sun, we've loved watching it. However, I would have liked it to be a foot taller - but it looks great in my front yard.
Comments about Product: It was a present to my husband, he really enjoys it. It was quickly set up and so different from most of the gifts he has received. Almost a toy.
It adds interest and beauty to our outdoor pool area. The movement is peaceful and the glowing orb is delightful.
Comments about Product: I put this in my garden and had no problem assembling. It works great if aimed at the wind, doesn't twist with the wind, but twirls beautifully in the wind. I love it. So pretty.
Comments about Product: I love this spinner!! I didn't have to adjust spinners like others. Pulled it out of the box & put it in my flower garden & it took off. Looks GREAT!! We have some high winds at times & I haven't had any problems with it. It even moves in the slightest breeze. The globe doesn't glow but we have a barn light in the driveway that lights up the whole area so it might not be dark enough. It's still very beautiful!!
Comments about Product: This spinner is so beautiful out in my garden. I had a nice suprise when I ordered it on the phone, it was on sale. I have wanted one like this for a long time and am very glad I ordered it!
Comments about Product: The globe doesn't really glow, but the spinners are so interesting and pretty when even a light wind is blowing that it is still a great garden decoration. We're at the beginning of its third season, and its stake has started to give out - we're going to have to strengthen it somehow. We have gotten tons of positive comments on how eye-catching and pretty it is.
Comments about Product: Contrary to some of the reviews, this spinner worked beautifully the first day we put it in our yard. It was spinning so fast I thought for sure it was going take off! Be sure the sections are tightly screwed together - ours weren't and the spinner started to unscrew itself from the strong winds. It is as attractive completely still as it is when it is spinning. Although the globe glow is very subtle, the copper tone is a wonderful accent in my garden. Love, love, love it. I highly recommend this item.
Comments about Product: I have the spinner upstairs on the deck where it gets the most wind, and it works great! After the first strong sustained wind, I found the globe downstairs by the pool broken. Other than that, I love it.
It was out of stock so delivery took a month.
Comments about Product: I am disappointed that it just does not spin or turn into the wind. I have yet to see the globe glow even though it has been exposed to much sun. I still enjoy looking at it but wish it would function better. Not really true how you advertise the product.
Comments about Product: We have added it to a focal spot in our yard, near our fountain. We live in a foothill area where there is often a lot of wind, and it works perfectly and is definitely an eye catcher.
Comments about Product: Like other reviewers I did have to adjust the spoons to ensure the wind "catches" for spinning. But it was easy to do and needed only light, slight adjustment. It is visually unique and when it spins it is mesmerizing due to the spinners being reversed. It does glow but only slightly and for a short period after dark. But the globe is still beautiful and makes the spinner.
My main con is the connection joint between the double legged stake and the post - it is really flimsy and insufficient to hold in strong winds. I live in Minnesota and we have had an exceptionally windy spring. The whirligig would bend at the joint because the threading wasn't long enough to hold the piece together. My husband fixed it with a hose clamp - unslightly fix but it's hidden by the greenery in garden where it sits.
Comments about Product: After reading reviews stating it would not spin or needed adjustment to spin- I was a little concerned but knew P&H only carried quality items- so purchased anyway. The directions state clearly to place in an area that receives consistant breezes. I moved the spinner twice and found a great spot where it spins easily and smoothly. Keep in mind- the "perfect spot" visually may not have the right air movement- so be open to possibilities! It looks great just about anywhere so you should not have a problem- spinning or still! I love it and would highly recommend it to anyone who likes a sculptural addition to their garden. I will send this for gifts to friends!
Comments about Product: I purchased this product a several weeks ago. After reading the reviews, I worried that it would not spin. As the wind blows it never stops spinning. Rememember, for it to spin it must be placed in the correct area of your garden and yard. I love it, however, I have yet to see it glow, but it doesn't matter.
Comments about Product: I bought this same item elsewhere for much less. I do enjoy it but the wind does have to be fairly strong to make it swirl. You have to be right on top of it to see it glow on the greenish swirl only and then it is still very faint. Glad I didn't buy it at the higher price. It is atrractive in the garden.
Comments about Product: I had this item one day, one of the spinners broke off and the ball fell off. My neighbor attempted to put JB Weld on it and it did not hold. The top(of what is left) keeps falling off when spinning! Huge waste of my hard earned money!
Comments about Product: other garden also. The only thing it doesn't glow it is in the sun all day but still no glow
I'm very pleased with my purchase and would recommend this to a friend. The only thing is it doesn't glow at night. It is located in my garden which gets full sun all day and still no glow
Comments about Product: Pretty, but the spinning wheels are unbalanced and do not spin unless there is a pretty stiff wind; then it will spin but the whole thing wobbles even though it is securely staked in the ground. I've seen other wind sculptures that move with the slightest breeze but not this one. Also if the globe glows, it is too faint to see. But it is pretty in the sunshine.
Comments about Product: Very pretty and interesting addition to the garden. It isnt as large as I thought it was, but then again, I didnt read the size, it also requires a good windy day to get it to turn, but even when not turning its a great addition to draw your eye to the garden
Comments about Product: The delivery was great !!
Putting it togeather was easy.
the bulb that is suppose to glow after being in the sunlight all day , didn't work, the bulb is crooked on the sphere.
we were excited when we got it, but it doesn't glow..
Comments about Product: Very attractive, unusual garden art; ball in center is supposed to glow at night, but it does not. We have other LED garden lights that do work, so this one is likely defective. But, it is pretty anyway.
Comments about Product: I ordered one for me and then turned around and ordered two more for gifts. Love to watch the spinners....very relaxing. Only disappointment is the ball at night but not enough to return or be unhappy.
Comments about Product: I was skeptical whether or not this would actually work, but it's fantastic product! I, too, just bent the prongs a little bit to catch the wind, and if you place it just right, it spins like crazy!!! It might not with all winds, but once it gets going, it really takes off and looks mezmirizing! Don't dismay, just play with it and experiment and it will work for you!
Comments about Product: My husband gave me this for Christmas and he had to adjust it to make it spin. Then I worked great until a tree branch fell on it, after which he had to adjust it again, of course! It is really pretty and fairly inexpensive as these spinners go. I was on this page because I am planning to get one for a friend of mine. I will have my husband adjust it before we give it to her.
Comments about Product: After reading several reviews on this, I was worried I'd purchased a spinner that didn't spin -- until I read that you need to adjust the "tines" on the spinner... you just need to gently twist the "spoons" and viola! - you got yourself a beautiful piece of yard art... that is also a great spinner!
Comments about Product: As far as a spinner goes, this one does not work very well. I was very disappointed because I felt the weight of the wheels do not allow the spinner to turn in the wind. I do like the glow in the dark bulb and it is pretty in the daylight which is why I gave the "Kinetic Spinner" two stars. The spinner also broke too easily when I put it into the ground. I was still able to use it for yard decoration only. I would not recommend this particular spinner to anyone.
Comments about Product: Very attractive, but we can't seem to get the back circle to spin. We have tried everything. We have leveled the spinner and moved it several times, but nothing. Not sure if I would recommend to another until we can get the back spinner to work. When it does spin, it is really beautiful.
Comments about Product: This product is very good looking and I wish it had worked, but the "weighting" of the wind catchers was so off balance that no amount of wind shorter than a hurricane would make it spin.

The Olla: A Brief History
Olla (Spanish, pronounced “oh-ya”) jars have been around since ancient times. Made of unglazed ceramic, ollas traditionally have short, narrow necks with wider bodies, and are made in a variety of shapes. They have been used for thousands of years for cooking, storage, and plant irrigation.
When used to irrigate plants, an olla is buried neck-deep in the ground near a plant’s roots, with the opening of the olla extended above the soil so that it can be filled with water periodically. The porous walls of the unglazed pottery allow the water to seep through gradually, constantly and consistently hydrating the plants without overwatering them – and without wasting precious water to evaporation or runoff.
The use of ollas for irrigation was introduced to the American Southwest by Spanish conquistadors during Colonial times, becoming very common among Native American tribes and Hispanic settlers. Though the technique gave way to more modern methods of irrigation some time ago, its superior efficiency, coupled with its simplicity, has caused it to make a comeback. Though the technique has changed little since its introduction, today’s ollas are usually capped off, making them even more water-efficient.
Perfect for home gardens, Ollas are a super-easy, eco-friendly, less time-consuming way to water annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and plants of all kinds in dry, sandy soil, very hot or drought-prone areas, raised beds, and even pots, planters and hanging baskets. Fill the olla before you leave on a short vacation to enjoy worry-free watering – and a smaller water bill!
