I have several problems. Can't make the whirligig stand up. Top is to heavy and no matter what I do it falls down. The fan blades were hard to get on but when I did the animals will not go up and down like they are meant to do. Guess I will return.

Easy set-up, but hummingbird broke off with first wind. Not a storm mind you, but just a little harder than a breeze. Nice to look at, but flimsy.

Such a great idea, but it needs help. The tail needs to be bigger to turn the plane into the wind, and the mechanism that turns the prop and makes the figures move needs to have less friction, or something, so it will work in normal winds other than hurricane force winds. I hope they update it so it could become a real whirligig .

Since it comes with extra nuts, put an extra on the front and back of the propeller to lock everything together. (two nuts on each side, tighten with needle nose pliers) Then put just a drop of crazy glue on them.
This thing goes nuts in the high winds! I'm convinced Spike will break his earthly tether and launch himself one day.

I gave this whirlygig (the one of the Flying Ace dog) to my neighbor for her garden. She loves it but I've noticed that it doesn't spin even in a strong wind. but it's really cute. We'll see how it holds up over time. It may need a coat of clear shellac to maintain the color.

Very cute. Love the design. However, the blades keep falling off and it's very easy to lose the screws. They give you 3-4 of them. My husband finally figured out a way to keep the blade from falling off, but now it just stays in one position. Not recommended for strong windy areas.

I purchased this for a friend not knowing what was happening her life, she had hit a low point, but this whirlajig was just something silly to help her mind go other places.... perfect timing.

This is very cute. The design is no good. I guess the propeller is too heavy to spin. I have other types near it and they spin with no trouble at all.

The train whirligig was given as a Christmas gift to my niece, who is an avid gardener. She loved the design and look. Since we have been buried in snow thus far, she has not had a chance to install the whirligig in her yard. I'm sure she will let me know how the whirligig is working once she's had a chance to assemble it.

Won't be able to comment on the quality or durability until I hear from my niece.

I bought this for a gift. I was skeptical as some of the reviews haven't been that great. But because he's an older gentleman and loves trains, I got it for him. Opening it out if the box seemed fragile and was scared it would be easily bent. The paint job was good and once put together it seemed like it would work well as all the parts moved as they should. Not too sure I would purchase again.

The whirligig was easy to assemble. We put in the front yard, but in only one day the wind caused it to break. Specifically, one of the tiny welds broke. [...] It operates just fine in light wind, but goes like crazy in high winds, threatening to shake it apart. I would recommend putting it on a protected patio so that it gets only light wind. It is too fragile to leave out in strong wind. It is a good purchase if you keep it in a light wind area only.

Bought this thinking my 2 yr old grandson would enjoy it - and he does. But it does not work. The only time it gets propelled by the wind is in a severe wind storm, and then the propeller comes off. We play with it by spinning the propeller by hand. Unhappy with it, but not enough to send back. But would not recommend or buy another.

I received the classic saw men model as a Christmas gift.The propeller fell off the first day. Fixed by putting lock tight on locking nuts.Now two weeks later after plenty of wind the saw men do not move anymore, only the little squirrel goes up and down.Very inferior quality made in [*] item....[...]rlewis7575[@]
