Whistle Stop Train Station Birdhouse And Turned Wood Pedestal Pole

you are promised bird house and pole. all you get is pole.

It is much smaller than pictured and instructions are confusing

I bought the birdhouse and the pedestal pole/post. I wanted the set for the outdoor. I know that Minnesota has harsh winters but the post and the birdhouse did not even make it to the winter. The second day after we installed it outside in June of this year the paint on the pole started to peel off. This is the second pedestal pole we bought. The first we purchased for a different birdhouse and it survived the summer but started to peel off after winter so it seems that the quality of the paint is getting worst with each purchase. The birdhouse is very pretty but it is falling apart as well. The blue trimming around the window and door fell off already and it was during summer warm days. I wonder what will be left after winter. The birdhouse is smaller than my other birdhouse was but birds started nesting as soon as we put it outside but I wonder how long they will be able to use the birdhouse if it will be falling apart at this rate. I am so dissapointed. I love the look of this set but it should have been made from a material that when outside it will hold for few years. I think that maybe in the description of this product it should be mentioned that it is made to last one season in this case the buyer will make an educated decision to purchase or not this product every year.

Fairly fast and made already except for exterior thing!!
However smaller that I thught. I hope my birds on West coast will fit into house!!

Added several coats of my own varnish so it can survive Chicago winters-we'll see how well it holds up. I did buy this for birds to live, not for an indoor decoration!
