It's like taking a sleeping pill !
Feels and looks like traditional rope hammock but is more durable. Invest in a pad to make it even more comfy. Great for lazy days by the lake. Best napping I've ever had.

It seems the same parties make the webbing for all hammocks, as I've investigated several sources and they either come from South Carolina or India. The cotton webbing seems too stretchy on all the available hammocks, and I don't have a weight problem. I weigh 148#, but when fitted to a 14 ft. expanse, 4 ft. off the ground, the webbing stretches so much that when I get in the hammock, it touches the ground--not good.

Hammock in the SNOW? oh NO!
By Apple 1 Annie
from Morrison, CO
Hammock arrived in a May snowstorm, but can't wait to give it a try. This is the second one we've purchased and it has lasted years and years. I just wanted another to place in a really shady place for many years to come.

Live it thus far for kids and adults alike.Have it a just a month or so and very happy

After shopping around I found Plow & Hearth's hammock the best price for quality around. I've been looking for this as birthday gift for retired husband for a while, and found P&H at price less than half the local shops.I thought we'd be scrimping on quality but it's the very same hammock being sold in local shop. Husband loves it, put it up in about 20 minutes and naps there every day. I was afraid it would be too stretchy, and it did stretch out but he just raised the ropes around the tree trunks. May be a problem for people using the metal form, but on trees no problem at all.Very comfy, very sturdy, very good buy.

I ordered the hammock and stand for my husband for a surprise anniversary present. He was very excited about it! We are very happy with the study construction of both the hammock and stand. Since all the pieces were on sale, I also bought the pad and pillow. The ropes on the hammock are a bit scratchy, so I would recommend getting them as well.
Nice colors, quality, price

My husband LOVES the new pad I bought for his hammock. He's enjoying many naps on this pad, which he says is a bit roomier than the pad (now worn out) that came with our Brookstone hammock years ago. I wish P&H sold color-coordinated canopies for hammock stands, too.
Way too stretchy
By Outdoor Lover

I read all the reviews and percieved most of the negative ones to be for the stand, not the hammock. So I purchased the hammock with reasonable confidence. The reviewers who mentioned this is too stretchy, however, are spot on. I cannot hang this in the space where for years I have put my other rope hammocks. With the hammock 4 feet off the ground I still touch the ground. I even wrapped the ropes around my posts. Way too stretchy - you can tell as soon as you take it out of the box.

Love the width and length of this hammock. Also love the fact that it will hopefully wear longer than cotton. You can hardly tell the difference.

Hammock and pillow

We use the hammock in the side yard. It was easy to install as we used 2 trees. The grandkids love it but it was purchased for my hubby. I know that the hammock was USA made and that's what I like about it the most. We take the hammock in everytime because we have squirrels. Plus I'm hoping that the hammock will last longer if we keep it out of the weather.

We love the hammock--our granddaughter especially likes to swing with grandpa when she comes over.

About Me High-end Shopper
The large size accommodates 2 adults or 3 children. The open air webbing is cool and lets wet swimsuits drip dry as you relax.
Needs stabilizer to compensate for wheel
from South Jersey
Sturdy construction but wobbly because of the wheel on one end. Makes getting in and out of hammock precarious at best. Need stabilizer on opposite end of wheel location to eliminate the tetter-totter effect!

I was concerned that it would be too short for the existing hammock but it was perfect. I also loved the side ties that really keep it in place.
Delight in the Hammcok
By KB the Hammock Swinger

I love the hammock pad and the pillow. It is so well constructed, you just know it is going to last for the long haul. It is easily put on and removed and how very smart to put velcro straps on the pillow to keep it in place. I would recommend this to anyone who has a hammock, no matter what brand. Simply lovely.
Hanging the Hammock
I loved how easily the stand was put together....until we got to the wheels. To this day we still can't figure out how to fasten them to make them stay. Now that we are in our third month of pretty steady usage the frame does not seem as sturdy as it should. It could be fine, but it seems to have alot more give than when it was "brand new".
Not so sure....yet
By KB the hammock swinger
We love the hammock itself, but it said weather resistant. We live in Northern New York, and I already see some fraying of the cords. It has not been an overly wet summer so it makes me wonder how many years we are going to get for the price we paid.

We have to adjust the way it is hung on the hammock stand (purchased at the same time) so that you are not inches from the ground when laying in it. We've had to twist the rope and wrap it around the stand in order to shorten the hammock.
Disappointing at the price
from Los Angeles
The rope-style construction is a good idea, but badly realized here. Some knots came loose immediately, and generally the hammock looks sloppily made. Should have been better at the price.
Longer than advertised
from San Jose, CA
Nice looking hammock but the measurements are very misleading. Plow & Hearth says it is 82 inches long. When I called to verify that, they had no additional information and the customer service lady said she thought that represented the full length--one would think! It turns out that's the length of the hammock bed, but the full length includes an extra 32 inches at each each, beyond the bed, and then potentially another foot or so of chain. So while I thought this hammock would easily fit my 12-foot stand, it was way too long!

A great addition to our backyard
from Louisville, Kentucky
I purchased a hammock from a different companty last year for my mother-in-law and we had to replace it this year because it was beginning to fray.I purchased one from Plow and Hearth last year for my husband and we used it quite a bit and had no problems so I chose to purchase one from your company this year to replace the frayed one, however, it's too stretchy. My mother-in-law is a small person and it stretches almost to the ground when she gets in it.She has a stand and we have ours between 2 trees. Don't know if that has anything to do with it or not but my husband is very talented with getting things to work and still had problems so we may end up sending it back. We found another one that looks a lot like the one we purchased last year from your conmpany and if it works better than the one we recently purchased then we will definitely send it back and use this one we purchased at [@]
Excellent, very durable, hammock stand.
from St. Michaels, MD
We've had the hammock for quite a while but no trees or stand to put it to good use. The Plow & Hearth hammock stand is great. It's very solid and durable and our hammock fits perfectly. We're really enjoying the outdoors more now.
