Comments about Product: The lovely garnet pattern caught my eye in the catalog, the reviews were helpful, so I called the local store and went to actually see and feel the item. It is lightweight in comparison to other furniture pieces we have, however my intent was for use as an ottoman for our sofa. My husband was in the habit of using a sofa pillow on the coffee table but the table was an inch or two high for such use. This bench is the same height and depth as the ottoman that came with our sofa/chair set and is the perfect length for a sofa ottoman. Love it, husband loves it and the kitty loves it too.
Comments about Product: Great bench, perfect for my ten foot windows. Allows two people to set very comfortably. My yellow Labrador loves to lay and look out of the windows.
Only complaint is where the upper cording comes together, ragged edges that needed trimming and fray check to be applied.
Comments about Product: I purchased the Upholstered Bryan Tufted Bench in a burnt red color and it coordinated perfectly with the rustic feel of my living room. I placed it front of main sofa. At times, I use as a coffee table by placing a large tray on it perfect place for a drink and appetizers. During the holidays, I moved it around different areas of living room for extra seating. I searched around all my local furniture stores plus searched many websites and found this bench to be of high quality and considerably lower in price. It was easy to order from the website and was surprised to find it on my front porch four days after I ordered it during the Christmas holidays. Only thing had to do after taking it out of the box, was to the screw the wood legs on the bench. By the way, the wood legs on the bench matched perfectly with other wood products in the living room. Don't have any complaints!
Comments about Product: The bench arrived within a couple days and, to my dismay, had a small stain on the corner (probaby happened when it was packed). I called immediately and another one was sent out and the faulty one picked up. This all happened in a couple days. The lady who helped me was very nice and there was no problem making the trade. The bench was just what I wanted and needed. It is sturdy and I love the fabric. I looked a long time for the right bench and kept reading reviews that said they were not well made. This one is well-made and I LOVE IT!
Comments about Product: This is a beautiful bench ottoman. I purchased the Persimmon color. It is a deep rich rusty brown color, not pink. It was shipped fast. I ordered it on a Friday and it arrived Wednesday. Legs screw on quickly and easily. My Golden Retriever was using it as his personal elevated dog bed (not why I purchased it, but you try to tell him!) within 5 minutes after placing it in front of the sofa. It is sturdy enough to sit on for extra seating. I am very happy with this purchase and highly recommend this piece.
Comments about Product: This furniture piece is beautiful. The color and quality is exceptional. It was received quickly and in pristine condition. I am using it as a comfort piece, as an ottoman for my new love seat. Plow and hearth didn't let me down, there is nothing I have ever received from them below standards, and this occasion is no different.

The Olla: A Brief History
Olla (Spanish, pronounced “oh-ya”) jars have been around since ancient times. Made of unglazed ceramic, ollas traditionally have short, narrow necks with wider bodies, and are made in a variety of shapes. They have been used for thousands of years for cooking, storage, and plant irrigation.
When used to irrigate plants, an olla is buried neck-deep in the ground near a plant’s roots, with the opening of the olla extended above the soil so that it can be filled with water periodically. The porous walls of the unglazed pottery allow the water to seep through gradually, constantly and consistently hydrating the plants without overwatering them – and without wasting precious water to evaporation or runoff.
The use of ollas for irrigation was introduced to the American Southwest by Spanish conquistadors during Colonial times, becoming very common among Native American tribes and Hispanic settlers. Though the technique gave way to more modern methods of irrigation some time ago, its superior efficiency, coupled with its simplicity, has caused it to make a comeback. Though the technique has changed little since its introduction, today’s ollas are usually capped off, making them even more water-efficient.
Perfect for home gardens, Ollas are a super-easy, eco-friendly, less time-consuming way to water annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and plants of all kinds in dry, sandy soil, very hot or drought-prone areas, raised beds, and even pots, planters and hanging baskets. Fill the olla before you leave on a short vacation to enjoy worry-free watering – and a smaller water bill!
