I ordered 2 of these screens for a see-thru fireplace. Previous reviews mentioned it being flimsy and the doors not staying shut. This has not been the case for mine. They fit the opening perfectly, look professionally installed and are quite sturdy for the low price. I love them.

My old firescreen was a cheap-o [@] product. I was truly excited with my step up to P&H. Upon opening the box, I realized how flimsy the screen is. I expected a superbly made, high end screen. I was very disappointed as there was nothing to separate this P&H screen from my [@] screen. The stamp "made in China" disappointed me.

I really like the screen. I'm not a fan of the shiny brown finish so we sprayed it with high temp flat black paint and it worked out perfectly. One of the rivets is not in line, but my home is somewhat rustic so it fits in. Is being used with a gas fireplace so is basically for looks and safety against little hands touching glass. No problems with the magnets holding the doors shut. Looks great!

The screen looks great in my bungalow-style house, and the "small" size is in perfect proportion to the tiled fireplace. All the needed hardware was included. It's not rocket-science to assemble, but some simple guidance would have saved time. I was a little surprised at the size of the supporting legs/feet--they stick out quite a bit. However, this isn't a big drawback and the screen has a good flush fit across the entire fireplace opening. Doors open fully for good access. It's a great value, too, compared with similar ones from other sellers.

Looks great and does the job.............. but had issues with doors staying closed (had to bend doors into shape) [...]. They shipped me a replacement for the first screen, ended up the replacement was far worse than the original...so sent second one back. All in all, a very great look, but quality control is a little lacking. Once I fixed the problems..........very pleased with this screen.

We had looked for quite a while for a fire screen that looked good against the arch of our fireplace. This one really looks great. It does tend to tip forward if you open both doors. This is not a problem for us, as we are using gas longs and need only to open one door to reach the controls. I would not like it as much if I was putting in large logs and needed to open both doors.

We could return the screen, but I don't want to bother. It looks attractive from a distance. The screen material on one door, has lines in it. The other side had paint globbed in s few holes, when I punched the paint out, it left a bare spot. Doors are not set in equally, one is slightly higher than the other. Attractive, but Quality is very poor. Figures, it was made in China. BUY AMERICAN!

The price was reasonable. Quality isn't great, but for the price, it was as expected. The doors open by themselves because the magnets don't work. This makes for a dangerous scenario, since we sometimes leave the fire to go out when we go up to bed. Resorted to leaving something in front of the doors to prevent them from swinging open on their own accord.

1 star was added for their Excellent Costumer Service Dept.

If you just want to look at this screen and not use it fine. The color of the screen is not dark bronze. It is a medium brown.

Attractive and sturdy firescreen. Actually looks nicer than the picture (not that it's a bad picture, but I was very pleased). Using for a patio fireplace and it works nicely!

Not one of H & P's expensive screens--and looks it. Doors hang unevenly, buckle where hinge is fitted. As we are using it in the basement, I'm not too dismayed, but I wouldn't display this in my living room.

Very cheap quality and appearance. Once the screen heats up the magnets stop working and the doors fly open. I only gave it a star because it fit the space so well.

This looks great - except that the doors met at the top but not at the bottom. Feels sturdy with one door open, but is tippy when you have both doors open.

Very happy with the screen - looks exactly as pictured, good quality, and great price. only complaint is that the magnet latches will demagnetize from the heat after a while - this will happen with any screen using magnetic latches. would be better if they offered a manual latch.

After one use the magnet was non functional doors open up on their own (very dangerous) also their is a gap between the doors that is 1/4" @ bottom & 1/8" @ the top. The matching tool kit is over all of a good quality except for the broom which is real flimsy looking.

We researched many different brands and models, both on line and in stores. This is the best value we found. The quality is excellent; styling is exactly what we were looking for, and price was very competitive. The arch on the door looks like it was made for our fireplace. We received one and had to return it because the hinge was broke. Received a new one and the magnets that help hold the doors shut, don;t work. Our door don't stay shut and we have to put a log of wood in front of the doors for them to stay shut. Bad investment.
