30-70 MPH winds, freezing winter tempertures and severe summer heat... are problem issues faced in the California Mojave Desert (located in eastern Kern County). My framed (indoor) window shutters and (dark glass) double pain windows work great... in our well insulated home... as long as those shutters are "shut" when weather elements are severe.

I did not relocate to the desert to live in a dark environment... to save utility cost. I wanted filtered sunshine during our winter and summer days. These sheers do the job perfectly... without (winter) reflected window drafts or (summer) reflected window heat.

Some comments are about the feel of the sheers... which is true. In opposition to those comments... you get the sheer look, they function as intended and your house guest are "unaware" of how your sheers feel.

I used the linen color for my formal rooms and the white color for my informal areas. The linen color looked best... but I must admit, the white color allowed far-more sunshine into our home.

To remove wrinkles... follow the other comments instructions.

To get the right look... the number of panels needed is 3 to 4 times the window width. I hung our sheers on extra large (outdoor) tension rods located inside my (indoor) framed shutters. I can easily open or close the sheers depending upon the weather elements.

My extra large 3-picture windows face westward... toward open fields. Now, I let the sunshine in while my neighbors close their shutters. The unexpected surprise... my utility bills cost less than my closed shuttered house !!!

Other than the backing on the sheer fabric, which is obviously some kind of clear plastic, the sheer drapes serve the purpose for which they were purchased. Plastic backing is undetectable from just looking at the sheer drapes hanging. I do like the amount of light that shines thru the fabric. We shall learn if the drapes are really thermal.

I just wish the panels were a bit wider....two are not quite full enough for a double window, but 4 would be too much (and too expensive!)

This panel looks great on my window. I will be buying more over a period of time {since they are a little pricey} for all of my windows. Our house was built in 2011 and even with great windows it can still be hard to heat and cool.
Hoping this will pay off on my electric bill in the future.
The panel does feel weird to the touch but guest usually don't feel my curtains.

I ordered a batch of these to be the only covering for a West-facing picture window in the room where the house's thermostat is. I wanted light in the room, but less daytime heating in the summer and less heat loss in winter, plus protection from sun damage for furniture and fabric. These do the job, and look nice -- even in a formal dining room. So I ordered some more, for another window where the sun beats in on summer and fall afternoons; these will be used as background sheers.

We remodeled a room for guests. No great view but lots of morning light. The curtains give a warm glow to the room while providing privacy. Yes, they help keep summer heat from radiating in, too.
I am going to order some for a screened porch we have recently added to block pollen in the spring but not block light.
I have already told friends how much we like them.

These curtain are not quite see-through, which is what I wanted for a front window. The material is somewhat coarse to touch, but drapes well and looks very nice on the window.
