This came in super secure packing, there was NO way this was going to get broke at all in transit. We set it out by the garden. It holds water perfectly, all different kinds of birds come to it. We would definitely recommend this. Sure it costs a little more than we would spend, but it is worth EVERY cent.
I was even thinking of adding some smooth glass pieces to the bottom of the bowl.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I was excited to see a male and female cardinal, so I thought, in the catalog. However, when received, both are red or male cardinals, no female in sight. But, it's still an attractive piece and glad I bought it.
