Solar Star Lanterns

Very satisfied.
When lit, it provides ample light.

Received 2 large solar star lights today. They are amazingly easy to set up and after only about 3 hrs in the sun, both lit up at dusk. It is now 6 hrs later, and they are both still glowing outside around the pool. LOVE THEM. I may just order a few more for front of house. Beautifully made.

Initially I had this in my front yard but it received too much light from the street light and it did not stay lit very long. Now that we are having longer days and I have moved it to my backyard where it does not receive light from the street it stays lit longer. I have received positive comments from visitors. I ordered one for a gift now.

Love how these lights look on my patio. I've only used them for one night but like them alot. The only little thing is that they could use a more rounded bottom with one more row of lights.

I ordered a small lantern "just to see." I will now be ordering a set for myself, my mother, and my sister. We took it out of the box and were fascinated by its construction. I hung it on the porch, instead of a spring flower basket. It stayed luminous from sundown to sunrise and gave the porch a wondrous light. We are going to hang them from shepherd's hooks all over our patios. Don't wait to use these "just for Christmas." They will be marvelous all year for light and decorating without that electric bill!

This is a really great product. As soon as they arrived I opened them and set them up in the sun. That night I walked out to see how they worked and they were awesome! They lit up the entire area around them. I have received several compliments about how nice they look, how detailed the stars are, etc.

We love the way the lights look hanging in our tree. Living in Ohio, we knew that the lack of sunlight would have an impact on the lights actually lighting up at night. So, I put red ribbons on the handle of the lanterns and regardless of the sunlight, we still have a festive looking tree day and night.

The on/off switch was difficult to determine if it was on or off. I followed these simple directions but it seemed difficult to get it working. Left it out in the daylight but it really didn't light! I'm sending them all back.

Once I figured out where to put the ornaments to get sun during day and lighting in the trees, it was a good fit.

These lights are so pretty and they work super well. They stay lit from sundown to about 1:30 am. I'm very pleased with the construction and ease of use also. They will be easy to store after the holidays! Great purchase.

We have these hung out on a Dogwood tree in the front yard where they receive plenty of direct sunlight. They only stay lit for about 3 hours each evening. I was really disappointed because they are pretty when lit.

These are really pretty but even when they are in full sun all day, the longest they have stayed lit at night is four hours. I tried moving them to different locations, but that's the longest they are lit. I have other solar lights that stay lighted all night and expected these to also. I think this should have been in the description.

I ordered both the large and small sizes of these solar lights. We had to fiddle a bit with the solar charger .. we had to pull it out of the holder at the top of the lanterns and tilt them. It wasn't a matter of getting enough light ... I live in sunny southern California and they got plenty of light. It just seemed that the wiring was kinked or something when the solar panels were in their original position. We discovered that if we pulled them out a bit and tilted them towards the sun they work perfectly now.

Once we got them working - they look beautful. I have other solar lighting out on my patio. These were a wonderful addition. Together it makes my patio look very magical.

I couldn't wait to add the festive lightsed balls to the naked tree next to the front of my house, and was so happy that electricity was not needed. Unfortunately I don't have an electric outlet outside, in the front of the house. Unfortunately, there has not been any sunshine lately, and because these are solar lights, that means they are NOT illuminated. They still look nice during the day hanging in the tree, but it defeats the whole purpose for me in having "lights" that didn't need electricity!

some came with the batteries already installed, some not. Had to take apart to determine. Then the on/off switch very difficult to determine when off or on. Luckily, they all came on after charging.

Very pretty. Work well in warm areas, NOT in cold. We tested them indoors and they lasted all night. Outside with lows in the 40's lasted less than 2 hours. In South Dakota, that is not even cold yet. Take these out of your winter catalog.

Now that we have the rechargeable batteries replaced, they work wonderfully as we had hoped they would. At first we returned the large one as it did not light up at all. The two smaller ones didn't last very long. Finally we figured out it could be the batteries.

So nice not to have to run extension cords way out in the yard. Just hang these on branches anywhere in the yard and they look awesome!

Unimpressive-cheap construct and unreliable lighting -do not recommend

We found that they need to hang absolutly flat to light up. Even on a cloudless day the longest they have stayed on is 3 hours. We are very disappointed with this product.

These lights are a wonderful idea, however they do not stay lit for long. No lights after cloudy days either. The sun sets here around 4:30 and by 8 they are no longer lit. My children are sad.

I planned to use these in my yard, hanging on a tree, but the lighting was too harsh and did not compliment other holiday lights on my property.

We don't live in a very sunny area, so they only stay lit a couple hours at night.

We hung these in an oak tree for winter decoration. No need for long extension cords so we put them up high near the bird feeder.
An unexpected bonus (for us) is that the disks at the bottom of each star collect a little rainwater that the small birds are enjoying.
Lights are solar powered and come on at dusk. They could be a bit brighter but are otherwise delightful.

We love our solar step lights and post lights from Plow and Hearth. Even in cloudy days they stay lite all night. But the new lights while beautiful do not light for more than a couple hours. I expected the same quality as the other solar lights but although expensive these lights are just not as good.

even after being in the sunlight. Not a very classy look either.

Wanted the product for Christmas, like the fact they are solar powered. One had to be sent back because it didn't light up and haven't received the replacement yet

Each holiday, many homes in Greensboro decorate outdoor trees with hand made ornaments made from chicken wire, string lights, and extension cords. I always wanted to join the Greensboro tradition, but I didn't like the idea of running cords into trees. Finally, an easy way to join the festivity. I bought a set of 3 and put them in a tree that receives lots of daytime sun. They come on at dusk and last well into the night, long after I go to sleep.

Great outdoor Christmas balls.  They have a self hanging hook which makes it easy to hang in trees.  No cords or external batteries required - totally solar powered.  I was pleasantly surprised to see the lights shining bright for many hours after sunset.  I strongly recommend these lights to anyone looking for a convenient way to install decorative Christmas balls without the hassle of running cords all through the yard.
