I purchased a set of these last year to put on a small tree at my husband's gravesite. They worked great and I received many compliments and inquiries as to where I purchased them. I am purchasing a new set for this year because the groundskeepers ripped a bulb off when they removed them and set them beside the headstone in the spring. However, I don't believe it was because they weren't durable. I believe it was just carelessness and being in a hurry- don't know why they felt the need to take them off in the first place, as I had them secured to the tree. The lights still work even though a bulb was removed from it, but I am afraid it will get damaged in the weather (snow), so I am just replacing it for cosmetic reasons, basically.

I purchased 2 sets of solar lights for the holidays. I exchanged one set immediately because it did not charge. The remaining set will light for a couple of hours before it goes dark. At this point, I should have asked for a refund rather than an exchange. I would recommend strongly that one wait until the technology is perfected.

Comments about Plowhearth Solar Holiday Lights:

I use thes lights for ALL the different holidays. Great for those areas lacking any electricity. I wished I'd taken a picture of this years diplay, I weave them with greenery for Christmas, string with colored PVC for 4th of july. Solar spotlights too are valuable, they light our address display and our flag display, we would be dark without them! Batteries last a good long time and are easy to replace when needed.

Comments about Plowhearth Solar Holiday Lights:

I bought two strings several years ago. People were fascinated when I was able to light an evergreen over 100' from the house. Everything about these is fine, except the fragile wiring has been damaged by deer and ???. I repaired them two years in a row, and finally had to throw one string away. As far as how long they stay lit, I don't know why others have problems; mine stay on almost all night.

Comments about Plowhearth Solar Holiday Lights:

I liked the idea of solar lights and ordered the lights to trim a giant window cactus. However, this product did not work as described. The lights were beautiful when initially lit, but dimmed quickly and were out in less than 15 minutes. With each recharge and use,the lighting time decreased. Even letting the solar panel recharge for two weeks, and then turning the lights back on, did not solve the problem of inadequate power.

We used our lights on shrubs & Crape Myrtles in the area of one white Xmas tree surrounded by fake poinsettias. It was magical.

We did find it easier to use string lights rather than the net variety, and that designs could be more sculptural.

It was hard to get first charge in winter because I live in forest. Once fully charged, lights lasted all night but now only stay on for an hour or two. So charming, though. Installation tip: make sure that solar panels are placed high enough off ground that they won't be covered in snow.

I removed the 2 AA batteries and charged them in a wall charger overnight before using the lights. Now, despite overcast days, the lights are working great. The 5 ft. of cord from the charger to first light is helpful. I would keep these up year-round because of the helpfull light they provide in our wood/tool storage area. Unfortunately 1 set was chewed up by a stray puppy we took in over night[...]overall these lights are great! I would love a couple more sets!

I ordered two sets of these for a couple small trees in my front yard. One string never did work, and P/H eventually sent a replacement. They worked for about two weeks, and then just died on me. During those two weeks, they were very dim and only lit up for a couple of hours despite getting a full charge of direct sunlight. The idea behind this product is great - these just ended up being a hassle for me.

Comments about Plowhearth Solar Holiday Lights:

solar is good; a longer line to "find the sun" would be good, as my azaleas (north facing blossoming bushes) are in the shade, and the solar collecter requires sunlight.
