Solar Rice Lights Add Spark
Add some spark to your garden! Our Solar-Powered Rice Light Stakes have bulbs only about the size of a rice grain, but clustered together on feathery metal stems they provide a burst of color similar to a sparkler. Stakes have flexible arms with multiple lights that are even showier in the breeze.

Stuck the lights in the middle of planters with flowers in them, so the lights glowed at night, very cool. Then, winter came, never got around to taking out lights and they worked all winter (in Colorado snow & cold). So whenever we looked out the window at night in the winter there was the blue and white lights. So a year in some very tough elements and these dainty rice lights still are working.

We bought 2 of the blue/white stakes at Christmas time and we didn't seem to have enough sun during the day to recharge the batteries. I even went so far as to buy "energizer lithium" batteries, but that didn't seem to help. But, because we were so enamored by them, we purchased 4 more stakes of the blue/white. We placed them out again in May and for 3 nights they seemed to be okay. We thought they 'came on' too early (it was barely dusk) and some of them went out before we went to bed (11:00 pm). We have several of them under a very lightly-shaded tree. Maybe that is the reason they don't recharge enough during the day. I intend to move them to a sunnier location and try again.I will let you know the results. We live in the Detroit area, southeastern Michigan, and I'm sure we don't get the sun that they do in other parts of the country.

I bought 10 and was underwhelmed. Had to buy better quality rechargeable batteries to replace ones included. Still short duration and we have decent sun here in Florida. Not worth the price!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Had to replace batteries to improve lighting duration. Seems cheap but not priced accordingly.
They Look Great in the Garden
from New Market AL
We have put them in the garden. We like that we can move them about to see how we like the location. They stay lit from dark until after bedtime even in NOV ( a good 6 hours). The location gets sun till 4 or so before the shadows fall.I have taken the batteries out and recharged them in a house charger and the lights will last all night till dawn.
Wish I had bought more during sale

TOO MUCH WHIZ AND NOT ENOUGH BANG
By Jim the Gardner
from Saint Clair Shores, MI
They are very attractive looking in the garden at night, but if they don't get good sun all day long, they don't last in the evening. We have even used rechargeable Lithium batteries but nothing works except a sunny day. You MUST use good quality batteries.
Unique and Quirky
from Yorktown, VA
I bought two sets of these rice lights--the red/yellow, and the white ones. The white ones are the brightest and stay on for about six hours. The red/yellow ones are finicky--they come on for 3-4 hours, don't come on after a heavy rain, and then come on again a few days after they dry out. I have these lights stuck in potted plants on my deck, and they are very charming and delightful to see.
Would not buy again!!!
from Columbus IN
These were bought as a gift. My sister said they worked fine. I went over a couple weeks later and they were not working but she didn't want to tell me and it was to late to send back. What a waste of money.

Wonderful feeling in the garden!
from Richmond, VA
I've been looking for white lights for the garden for a long time - something that looks like fairy lights and these fit the bill. Almost all solar lights for the garden are colors and I like the pure look of white lights. These are very whimsical and have given me just the look I wanted.....I hope they last a long time!
from Staten Island, NY
We got two of the red and green ones. Such a nice effect. We wish for a breeze on calm nights just so we can see the points of light wiggle about. We just ordered a set of white lights and a set of blue & white lights so we could have them all over the garden. Get lots of compliments.

Overpriced for reliability
from JC Tn
Bought two- one works fine and I love the look in the garden at night. The other quit working after one week despite my efforts to get it going. Not worth the money to ship to get replaced.
Tiny exploding fireworks!
from Silverton, Oregon
These lights are some of the most delightful ones I've seen yet. It's become a yearly thing now to try to find a different kind of solar light for the season, for our deck and gardens, and I usually buy at least two, one for me, one for my brother. I'm really INTO lights, especially solar lights. These are the latest and the greatest. I DO believe they are somewhat overpriced, but obviously I buy them anyway.
Solar Powered Rice Light Stakes
I purchased about 10 of the Rice Light Stakes and they are beautiful in both colors, blue/white and red/yellow! Illuminate brightly throughout the night!

These lights make my back yard magical. They are so easy to use. I put them in my small trees and bushy plants and just love the way they look at night. I've never had one bit of trouble all summer.

Other solar lights seem to need rechargable batteries often. These charge and stay bright. I love the blue and white.

UNIQUE AND STARRY STARRY LIGHTS!
By CAPITOL TWISTY
from Jefferson City, MO
These are the cutest and most unique solar lights that have such an original starry look to them in the dark - you really don't know what the heck they are from a distance - but they are so mystifying!!!I bought 2 in red/yellow for myself and one in blue for a friend and she quickly bought another one - I might buy 2 more later on this year too - love these!
Added some real fun to garden
from Reisterstown, MD
These rice lights work well and add a nice lighthearted touch to the garden. They are the first of the solar items I own to light up and sway delicately with a breeze. I bought only 2 but wish I had many more. I hope these are the start of more rice-light products made available.
from North Las Vegas, NV
These are used as stakes holding my solor flower pots in place. Like the way they move when it is windy.Since the wires are thin I don't know how long they will last in this Nevada heat.
Rice Light Review
from Minneapolis, MN
I have the red/yellow lights in 2 pots on my deck. They are fun and not overpowering. It's nice how they move in the breeze! Would be nice if they came in all white too.
from Tucson, AZ
I purchased 5, three of one color, two of the other. [...] I set them up right away. I placed them in pots I have around my backyard. They stay lit most of the night - depending on the amount of sun during the day. The wires are thin enough that they do move in the breeze, which is great. Haven't had any problems with them and have had them about a month.I just love them!
