Comments about Product: After reading some of the reviews, I had reservations about ordering. But the look and size was what I wanted - so I took a chance and ordered the larger wheelbarrow planter. I am not disappointed. It was very easy to assemble (15 minutes max), all the pieces fit perfectly and I had no problems with it falling apart when I moved it. The mix of metal and wood give a nice appearance. I put it on my side porch, filling it with mums and pumpkins. It gives me the fall look I wanted on a side small side porch. I was not looking for a heavy duty planter - just something more as a decoration - this item served that purpose.
Love those hummingbirds
Comments about Product: Great accent to the garden. Easy to put together and all parts were there and fit.

Not enough bang for the buck
Comments about Product: Very cute idea but the quality isn't the greatest. I wasn't 100% pleased with this purchase.
Smaller Than Expected
Comments about Product: It is very nice, easy to assemble. Only thing is I was picturing it bigger...Wish I had ordered the larger one. Only put it outside a few days ago so I'm not sure about it being weather proof or if it will blow away. It does not standout in my front yard...think I will move it to the porch.

Comments about Product: I waited 6 weeks for this item and was so disappointed. It isn't large by any standard. I actually went to the website and got the measurements thinking the smaller item was shipped in error. I thought I had the perfect spot for it when I ordered it in April, but after receiving it, it won't have the effect I was planning. I can't work up any enthusiasm to use it in my yard. Waste of money!
Dissapointed, large planter is small
Comments about Product: Delivery great. Very dissapointed for the money. Looks great on web-site but cheap lumber & metal. Appears much larger in photo, wheel much smaller. I actually got a measuring tape ! Could buy one in grocery store for less money. Hopefully this will last a few seasons. Really though this was going to be exactly what I was looking for to match a old wheelbarrow i use in the back garden. I just am so dissapointed in the quality, really, the wood is cheap.
Horrible Cheap Junk!
Comments about Product: I have purchased several items from Plow and Hearth in the past. I never had a problem with anything until now. This wheelbarrow should be taken off their site. It's a cheap piece of junk. I paid [$] for something that is half the size as I thought it would be and such thin wood that I would be surprised if it lasts one summer. I'm sure the minute you water a plant in it, it will fall apart. Very disappointed. I should have shipped it back!
Large-Outdoor Wheelbarrow Planter
Comments about Product: This planter set-up relatively easily. It allows for a very nice decorative planting. I'm hoping that it stands up to the outdoor elements for a few years at least.
Great look but not so sturdy
Comments about Product: The look is pleasing but when you brush by it parts of it fall off. We will try gluing and nailing where possible, to keep it together. I will use it in the yard and fill it with straw and pumpkins.

Good for the price
Comments about Product: I use it to display flowers and looks very nice!
I might buy the biggger size.
Love it..looks good in my garden
Comments about Product: Put together all by myself and looks great with other accents in yard by my garden house

I like this product.
Comments about Product: I did apply a sealer to protect it from the weather as an added benefit.
Put on stone wall platform to the entrance of my front door. Added potted flowers and it looks great. Nice in a country setting.
Looks big in photo, small in garden
Comments about Product: Thought it would be nice in the yard, but was not able to use as focal point, became a nice accent piece
Looks great on my steps!
Comments about Product: I wanted to showcase my flowers in something other than a flower pot and I saw the wheelbarrow online and thought it would make a great addition to my steps. I've gotten alot of compliments from my neighbors!!
Nice Addition To Flower Bed
Comments about Product: I decorated my wheelbarrow with flowers inside and accompanied it with a taller bird bath. I get tons of compliments from my neighbors! The only downside is that it is not that sturdy. My father-in-law is handy and used fine nails to secure the piece. Please be careful so you do not split the wood. Other than that, it is a great decorative piece for the yard or flower bed.

Not solid enough
Comments about Product: This is a cute wheelbarrow but it will not hold up to outdoor elements for long I'm afraid.
Comments about Product: I paid [$] for about $10.00 of cheap wood and metal. The large one is still very small. I was expecting more from this company. Very disapointed.
Comments about Product: While this was an expensive product I've seen the same item in other catalogs/stores. The cost in those places were an additional $10/$15+. Therefore, this was priced reasonably.
SM WOODEN WHEELBARROW
Comments about Product: [...] We love this item
I love the wheelbarrow
Comments about Product: I have my wheelbarrow outside with a planter of flowers in it. It is just wonderful. The product reached me in great condition.
Less Than What I Expected
Comments about Product: The construction was so poor-stappled together, I had to pull the plants out to nail it back together, The two supports in the back had to be glued on after the screws that came with it wouldn't hold.

Cracked and not good quality
Comments about Product: I was looking forward to receving the wheel barrow and was surprised at the quality when opening the box. Two of the slats on the bottom were cracked lengthwise so that immediately meant that I could not use it to hold pots of flowers. I paid good money for it thinking it would be better quality. I am turned off on placing future orders as the quality reminded me of something from Collections, Inc. or alike.
Large still too small for me
Comments about Product: The large wheelbarrow is still too small to really stand out in my garden. This item might be better on a deck or porch as pictured in the catalog. The screws that you are supposed to use to fasten the legs and wheel mounts are very cheap and flimsy. I had to use my own small screws to put it together. Given the relatively unfinished nature of the wood and the expense of the product, I recommend coating the wheelbarrow in a marine grade varnish.
Comments about Product: Outside with colorful pansies for this year, next year maybe something different. What an adorable accent to my yard!

Really nice item to add to my Garden!
Comments about Product: I have this little wheelbarrow out in a front yard flower bed beside a tall birdhouse and a birdbath. It is perfectly suited for that spot and I LOVE IT! Great product. Just exactly what I wanted.

The Olla: A Brief History
Olla (Spanish, pronounced “oh-ya”) jars have been around since ancient times. Made of unglazed ceramic, ollas traditionally have short, narrow necks with wider bodies, and are made in a variety of shapes. They have been used for thousands of years for cooking, storage, and plant irrigation.
When used to irrigate plants, an olla is buried neck-deep in the ground near a plant’s roots, with the opening of the olla extended above the soil so that it can be filled with water periodically. The porous walls of the unglazed pottery allow the water to seep through gradually, constantly and consistently hydrating the plants without overwatering them – and without wasting precious water to evaporation or runoff.
The use of ollas for irrigation was introduced to the American Southwest by Spanish conquistadors during Colonial times, becoming very common among Native American tribes and Hispanic settlers. Though the technique gave way to more modern methods of irrigation some time ago, its superior efficiency, coupled with its simplicity, has caused it to make a comeback. Though the technique has changed little since its introduction, today’s ollas are usually capped off, making them even more water-efficient.
Perfect for home gardens, Ollas are a super-easy, eco-friendly, less time-consuming way to water annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and plants of all kinds in dry, sandy soil, very hot or drought-prone areas, raised beds, and even pots, planters and hanging baskets. Fill the olla before you leave on a short vacation to enjoy worry-free watering – and a smaller water bill!
