Comments about Product:
I am back to order another pair of these slippers. I have had mine for over a year now. They get washed in the washer about every other week and they come out of the dryer looking good. They are well worth the price.I just cant say enough about the quality of these slippers.

Couldn't get on my foot
Comments about Product:
I am a size 7, bought a medium and felt like the stepsister in Cinderella trying on the glass slipper, I tried and tried, and couldn't get it on, so returned.

Expected higher quality for the price
Comments about Product:
I've had these slippers for about 6 weeks and the stitching has come loose at the back of the slipper, so the white lining is exposed. I would have expected better for the price. Otherwise, I love them.

I hate heavy slippers that make my feet sweat. These were just perfect for comfort and kept my feet feeling warm but not sweaty.

Just as good as I expected!
Comments about Product:
These slippers are exactly what I expected from Acorn; warm, and the memory foam soles are going strong after a month of frequent use. With the durable sole I can go out with the dog or get the mail, or make the rounds with the kids, though definitely wouldn't wear them to the store. Very happy with them.

toasty warm
Comments about Product:
This slipper is the most comfortable, warmest slipper I have ever had while offering support for my feet. We have hardwood floors and they are perfectly comfortable and keep my feet warm in the coldest weather. They seem to be wearing quite well but I do wish they could be cleaned up easier than spot washing. I will order another pair as soon as they show signs of wearing out.

Love these slippers
Comments about Product:
I wear 8 B/medium and they fit perfectly. They cost a little more than I usually spend for slippers, but they are worth it. I need some arch support, but not a full orthotic. These are soft and comfy, yet still provide adequate support. They look youthful rather than matronly, compared to other supportive styles. The muted denim blue color doesn't show dirt, so I have not had to wash them yet. Cute, cozy, and comfy- wonderful to slip on after work. Definitely recommend. So does my cat who likes to lounge on top of them.

The Olla: A Brief History

Olla (Spanish, pronounced “oh-ya”) jars have been around since ancient times. Made of unglazed ceramic, ollas traditionally have short, narrow necks with wider bodies, and are made in a variety of shapes. They have been used for thousands of years for cooking, storage, and plant irrigation.

When used to irrigate plants, an olla is buried neck-deep in the ground near a plant’s roots, with the opening of the olla extended above the soil so that it can be filled with water periodically. The porous walls of the unglazed pottery allow the water to seep through gradually, constantly and consistently hydrating the plants without overwatering them – and without wasting precious water to evaporation or runoff.

The use of ollas for irrigation was introduced to the American Southwest by Spanish conquistadors during Colonial times, becoming very common among Native American tribes and Hispanic settlers. Though the technique gave way to more modern methods of irrigation some time ago, its superior efficiency, coupled with its simplicity, has caused it to make a comeback. Though the technique has changed little since its introduction, today’s ollas are usually capped off, making them even more water-efficient.

Perfect for home gardens, Ollas are a super-easy, eco-friendly, less time-consuming way to water annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and plants of all kinds in dry, sandy soil, very hot or drought-prone areas, raised beds, and even pots, planters and hanging baskets. Fill the olla before you leave on a short vacation to enjoy worry-free watering – and a smaller water bill!

How it Works:

Water is pulled directly through the terra-cotta!
