Very useful, easy to handle, large capacity. Have found many uses for them besides recyclables.

Comments about Product:
Quality not what I expected. In my opinion, these were flimsy and made from low quality materials (they give off what to me is a foul plasticky odor). Usable, but not what I expected. And (again, IMHO) way over priced.

Made my recycling much easier
Comments about Product:
These bags are terrific, sturdy, stand upright and can hold a lot of recyclables. They even have handles so it makes them easy to carry and they are light weight so don't add to the weight of the contents. I was using large birdseed bags before and they didn't hold much or really stay open. They make sorting easy too.

Love these bags!
Comments about Product:
These bags are great -- pop up, basically. One for cans, one for glass, one for plastic or paper. If I had the room, I'd buy another set. They fit easily on my enclosed sun porch. Excellent value.

Comments about Product:
I waited months for this product as it was back ordered but seemed like the exact type of thing I was looking for in order to start recycling in our new home. They were worth the wait and we immediately put them to use.

just what i needed
Comments about Product:
My recycle bin from the carting company is outside and downstairs and at the other end of the house. This is a good bin to keep mixed recycleables in the kitchen until I have time to carrry them to the outside bin. It is neat and looks a whole lot better then the paper bags I used to use.

Comments about Product:
velcro strips too small. does not make connecting bags easy, so we just stand them up against each other.

The Olla: A Brief History

Olla (Spanish, pronounced “oh-ya”) jars have been around since ancient times. Made of unglazed ceramic, ollas traditionally have short, narrow necks with wider bodies, and are made in a variety of shapes. They have been used for thousands of years for cooking, storage, and plant irrigation.

When used to irrigate plants, an olla is buried neck-deep in the ground near a plant’s roots, with the opening of the olla extended above the soil so that it can be filled with water periodically. The porous walls of the unglazed pottery allow the water to seep through gradually, constantly and consistently hydrating the plants without overwatering them – and without wasting precious water to evaporation or runoff.

The use of ollas for irrigation was introduced to the American Southwest by Spanish conquistadors during Colonial times, becoming very common among Native American tribes and Hispanic settlers. Though the technique gave way to more modern methods of irrigation some time ago, its superior efficiency, coupled with its simplicity, has caused it to make a comeback. Though the technique has changed little since its introduction, today’s ollas are usually capped off, making them even more water-efficient.

Perfect for home gardens, Ollas are a super-easy, eco-friendly, less time-consuming way to water annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and plants of all kinds in dry, sandy soil, very hot or drought-prone areas, raised beds, and even pots, planters and hanging baskets. Fill the olla before you leave on a short vacation to enjoy worry-free watering – and a smaller water bill!

How it Works:

Water is pulled directly through the terra-cotta!
