I would have to give this a 2 in a rating of 5 based upon my usage:1. Cost - way too expensive for what you get ([*]) Get U.S.A.2. Breakage - be careful as this is glass, which I love, but usage is delicate3. Filling up the bird container; not a friendly endeavor in which to pursue4. This item should come with its own funnel, as the opening is extremely small5. Very wasteful in the usage of valuable water6. It clogs up quickly with the wet soil when inserted7. It doesn't serve any purpose except for looks8. Over exaggerated in promoting

I bought two sets of these birds for larger tree planters I have in my home. They allow me to keep a visual on the watering needs of my plants. I recommend a teeny drop of food coloring to help you see the water levels. Sturdier than you'd think--end rarely gets plugged with dirt when inserting into pot. I love them--so much better looking than the globe varieties sold everywhere! These are unique!
