Comments about Product: Although I really liked this edging, for it's durability, quality, and appearance, something in my ground stopped me from inserting it where I wanted the edging to go. So I returned the item. But I would still recommend it.
Sturdy, low fencing
Comments about Product: I bought two sets. While it comes in an 18" box, but after setting the fencing into the ground fencing is the 8" or 10" inches high as people mention. I pull it and reset it every time we mow, so it has to be sturdy. The set includes the 3-arch piece shown in the photo, and some pieces that are just one of those arches. Those little singles give me a lot of flexibility in fencing off areas. My dogs are short, but a corgi could hurdle this if it wanted. My dogs respect the fenced off areas, and this is perfect -- and as I said earlier -- sturdy
Comments about Product: This is a beautiful fence. I love the design, I wish it was cheaper or on sale, but Its well made, high quality, heavy duty, stays in the ground well, the stakes are long enough. I wish I would have bought a second set.

Elegant and classic and durable too!
Comments about Product: I first purchased some of this fencing several years ago. It is beautiful and durable. I was very happy to see that it was still available so that I could purchase additional matching sections as I expand my gardens.
Happy with first box so bought nine more
Comments about Product: We purchased this product to keep our Labrador out of the flower beds. The edging measures 10 inches above the spike. Though we left a few inches of spike above ground, our dog can still step right over it. We are hoping that just having the visual barrier will keep him out. The product seems to be adequately sturdy, but not so rigid that we couldn't bend it a little to accomodate the curved edges of our beds. We used a rubber mallet (to protect product finish) to pound the sections into the ground and the work was only mildly difficult. It might be easier to get a level appearance if there was another hook and loop towards the tops of the sections, but then it would probably be more difficult to work the sections together. We had a few hooks break off as we tried to level a new section with one already inserted in the ground but, all-in-all we are pleased with the appearance/functionality of the product. Exactly what I wanted
Comments about Product: I'm very pleased with the wrought iron fencing we ordered. Reading the reviews helped me to set correct expectations as to the height of the product once placed in the ground. Perhaps P&H ought to add that to their own details as it does matter when trying to keep dogs out of garden beds. The fencing is attractive and functional. A wee bit difficult to place, but once it is in I don't plan to remove it. Overall I'm quite pleased!
Great quality but height is misleading
Comments about Product: great product just realize it is only 8" high not 18" after installation

wrought iron edging
Comments about Product: Searched for some time on line looking a product like this. It is perfect for my project. I plan to make my windows look like a French cafe, using teracotta pots w/cascading flowers behind it on a shelf in front of each window. I will also make canvas awnings w/wrought iron extensions (to be made). I am, however, glad I read the previous reviews each stating the weathering of the finish. Because you have such a good reputation for quality, I bought them anyway & I plan to prime & repaint them w/outdoor paint before I place them. I hope you carry this same product for a while because, next spring, I plan to buy a LOT more of this fencing once my initial project is completed.
Fence is 10" high not 18"
Comments about Product: Fence is advertised as 18 inches high, but it is only 10 inches high.
Its the people that make it a pleasure
Comments about Product: My first selection was wrong but with the help of your customer service departments, I was able to get just the right garden edging and be very pleased. Size, color and design fit. I'm very happy as are my neighbors that have to look at my new Fleur-de-Lis Garden edging.
Very nice edging
Comments about Product: We bought this edging to protect our landscape lighting which all the kids accidentally stepped on and eventually broke. This definitely does the job in a subtle way as it is not too high, as I didn't want it to look like short fencing. It was much prettier and more solid than the wire version of garden edging we found at our local garden shops and the price was comparible. It is brown in color, which for some reason I didn't notice, not black as I had imagined and therefore doesn't stand out against the brown mulch type garden behind it (note the photo shows the grass backdrop which is much prettier.) Very good purchase, and I will buy more if my other lights come under "attack."
Comments about Product: Great design, easy to put together, very sturdy, lovely addition to my garden
Comments about Product: Misleading- height including portion of fence that would be below ground. It is not 18 inches high. This should have been made clear.

Sturdy little edging fence
Comments about Product: I was very impressed by how sturdy and well made this iron fence/edging is. I had planted a couple plants, put down mulch and the edging/fence to protect my pets grave site...it worked out and looks lovely.

better than expected
Comments about Product: Difficult finding sturdy metal fencing. We never had fencing, didn't want anything too high. This is both attractive, sturdy and the perfect size. We have many wild ducks that we feed that were destroying anything we planted against the building. They would jump and trample the plants. This fence is just tall enough to discourage them. Now the ducks are happy and the plants are growing again.
Comments about Product: So perfect to edge my English-style garden...it is a barrier but enables full view of the garden....dogs aren't able to relieve themselves on my plantings as easily any longer! Sturdy and easy to install...worth the cost.

Great fence, terrible packaging
Comments about Product: The fencing can be easily assembled (one section pops into the next so you need to plan where you start carefully) and it frames the garden very nicely.
In addition, extra sections can be used to support floppy plants.
I remove the fence in the winter to increase its longevity.
very versatile product!!
Comments about Product: we bought some of these a few years ago and have fouond them to be invaluable for keeping low lying plants upright along our garden walkway. I like the fact that they can be used alone or in combination depending on the length needed..Our whole back yard is all flowers and we have flagstone walks through it and we don't have to trim as many flowers to keep the walks clear since these edgers keep the plants upright. They "gray" a little over time but haven't rusted and are extremely sturdy and easy to push into the ground. GREAT PRODUCT

Comments about Product: I purchased 24 boxes of the scroll edging to trim the flower beds in my backyard and help keep my two dogs off of my flowers. The design is very attractive and the metal is weighty and well constructed. The only reason I can not give it five stars is the powder coat finish only lasted through one summer. The color has faded from a dark almost black grey to a light grey and there are a few small rust spots. Overall I am pleased with the product and I get compliments from my neighbors.

Liked it so much, I bought more!
Comments about Product: This particular edging is perfect as a small border for my front yard cottage garden.
Comments about Product: This is my second order of this edging within the last several years. My first set of edging, purchased a couple of years ago, looks the same as the new edging just received. It's easy to install, sturdy, stands up well (one of the panels was damaged only slightly when run over by a commercial lawn mower -- the lawn mower didn't do nearly as well ....) It's a finishing touch to the perimeters of my flower beds, protects them from foot traffic and over-enthusiastic weed whacking and is a good reminder to my four children not to stomp on the flowers. A really useful, great-looking product.

WROUGHT IRON EDGING
Comments about Product: I bought this edging several months ago and loved it! The panels are easily linked together and are very attractive. After I saw how they looked around flowerbeds in my patio courtyard...
I liked the look so much that I placed an order for more panels and have put them around all the flowerbeds in my yard.
I highly recommend them!
Great, looks good
Comments about Product: Use this is keep the leaves from blowing into our yard from the neighbors.

Curb appeal and more!
Comments about Product: We purchased your wrought edging to add curb appeal to our gardens at the front of the house AND to keep our two new (6 months) cairn terriers OUT. The edging works wonderfully for both and was a snap to install. We have purchased many things from Plow and Hearth over the years and have always been pleased with the products and the service.
The right product when size is important
Comments about Product: A great separation were a conventional fence is out of place.[...]
BETTER THAN EXPECTED!
Comments about Product: this fencing with simple to install, looks terrific and is super sturdy--no more floppy fencing!
Comments about Product: great looking flower protection.easy to install or move.
Comments about Product: I bought two sets to put around my flower beds near my front sidewalk. They added a touch of elegance and gave the beds a finished look. Even though they are short, they keep dogs from walking on my flowers. The interlocking system gives the appearance of one continual piece and make it easy to line up the corners. I am very happy with this purchase.
durable and attractive
Comments about Product: we use this fencing to keep stones in an area of plants next to our sidewalk and it works well

The Olla: A Brief History
Olla (Spanish, pronounced “oh-ya”) jars have been around since ancient times. Made of unglazed ceramic, ollas traditionally have short, narrow necks with wider bodies, and are made in a variety of shapes. They have been used for thousands of years for cooking, storage, and plant irrigation.
When used to irrigate plants, an olla is buried neck-deep in the ground near a plant’s roots, with the opening of the olla extended above the soil so that it can be filled with water periodically. The porous walls of the unglazed pottery allow the water to seep through gradually, constantly and consistently hydrating the plants without overwatering them – and without wasting precious water to evaporation or runoff.
The use of ollas for irrigation was introduced to the American Southwest by Spanish conquistadors during Colonial times, becoming very common among Native American tribes and Hispanic settlers. Though the technique gave way to more modern methods of irrigation some time ago, its superior efficiency, coupled with its simplicity, has caused it to make a comeback. Though the technique has changed little since its introduction, today’s ollas are usually capped off, making them even more water-efficient.
Perfect for home gardens, Ollas are a super-easy, eco-friendly, less time-consuming way to water annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and plants of all kinds in dry, sandy soil, very hot or drought-prone areas, raised beds, and even pots, planters and hanging baskets. Fill the olla before you leave on a short vacation to enjoy worry-free watering – and a smaller water bill!
