I burn hard all winter long, and this is the only grate I've found that will stand up to constant use. The last one I had lasted 4 seasons, when previous other grates would not even get me through one season. I need a quality product, and this one will be my choice for years to come.

Had to order a firegrate online as it was spring and home stores considered firegrates seasonal. Haven't used it yet but it is heavy gauge metal.

This fire grate works well -- we can finally burn all the smaller chunks of wood without them falling through. It was much more reasonably priced than a similar version at the local fireplace store.
It was a little difficult to get it properly aligned so that it sat level.

My parents purchased the larger version for their fireplace first, so I saw the grate in action... that sold me! The best thing about this grate is that once you have the logs in place, you don't have to tend to the fire (poke, move logs about, etc.).

After one season of many fires, it looks like the Saf-T grate won't be burning through any time soon. The design helps keep a nice bed of coals, keeps the firewood contained in the cradle, the fires last longer and doesn't have to be tended as often. Well worth the price.

this product was exactly what we wanted - however-even tho we measured, etc. it did not fit. We wanted the grate to go in the long way. We were terribly disappointed.Plow & Hearth were very pleasant to work with and very understanding. I would choose them again on another product.

Easy to build a good hot fire. Shape keeps coals contained and builds a nice bed as the wood burns. Strong construction, should last a long time. Get one!

Our fireplace is a bit on the small side. Logs used to roll forward and cause smoke to seep into the room. At first, I thought this grate was going to be too small but it is perfect since it keeps the logs and coals together making a wonderful fire, not to mention safer too!

We use this in our zero clearance fireplace in the living room. It fits perfectly in the firebox and has long enough legs that it is easy to clean under it. The extra clearance means the artificial logs catch fire faster and they burn longer. Our daughter had bought a grate from you & recommended we check your site. Very glad we did.

We bought this grate because we wanted: 1) one that would not allow the logs to roll off, 2) one that would help the logs to burn completely, and 3) one that would last. This grate works like a horse in all three categories. It is exactly what we want.

We replaced a grate that only lasted a year with the Saf-T grate and have used it for 2 months. It still looks like new. It's easy to clean ashes and remove ashes. It keeps logs up in place so that air can circulate around it and burn evenly.

This product works so well, I wish my old grate had worn out sooner. The fires burn effortlessly because the coals are kept up with the burning logs. My old grate had the wide spaces between bars, and the coals fell down, away from the burning logs, loosing some of the heat.

careful when u measure....i have a fireback as well and a small fireplace that thease two just fit....but works as described, and am pleased.

We are in wood country, burning here is a necessity, this grate provides a power burn, great airflow, complete wood burns with little ash but powder, and the concave design is great for wood stacks.

We have two fireplaces and have gone through several OEM grates, this one is the Boss Burning grate.

It works well but I need to sweep it off after every fire as the holes get clogged with ashes and prevent a new fire from starting. It seems very sturdy, though, so I don't expect to have to replace it for an extremely long time.

My fire burned for hours without needing me to put more wood on. Wood burns completely without falling through the grate like on my old one. highly recommend.

I routinely remove this grate to clean out ashes in the hearth and find it is already loose after 3 burning cycles.

Although I really liked the design of this grate, I hesitated buying it at first because of the price. When I got a new puppy, though, and began thinking more about the safety aspects, I decided to purchase it. I'm so glad I did. It is sturdy and attractive, and really does help prevent anything from falling out of the grate. The wood also definitely burns longer in it than in my previous more "open" design grate. Well worth the extra money over an inexpensive grate!

We have a smaller fireplace and never could find a grate that would hold the wood high enough to get enough oxygen to help the fire burn. There is very little tending required anymore and the wood burns better. A great product.
