The screws were too long and split the wood. I had to buy shorter screws. Other than that, a very nice footstool.

It was not the easiest thing to put together, and some of the holes drilled kind of "missed", but we are very pleased now that it is assembled. Probably took two of us about an hour and a half. But the bench is great in the space we wanted it for, and goes well with the other furniture in the room. Really happy with our purchase.

After shopping on line through endless sites I found exactly what I was looking for. I needed a bench of specific size and color to fit with our decor in our entry way. I am impressed with the quality of the bench and how much weight it holds (my husband weighs 250# and sits on it daily to put his shoes on before going outside). This bench exceeded my expectation. I look forward to purchasing more products from Plow and Hearth.

I love this bench. I just moved to a new home and have a small wall in my foyer that I wanted to put a hall tree/bench on. However I'm way to cheap to pay hundreds of dollars for one of those. So I bought a shelf with hooks and have been looking for the perfect bench to go below it. This bench fit in the space like a glove. The weave on top is very strong and seems like it will hold up well to an entryway. I love the black finish. It has a rustic touch to it with light distressing. As far as putting it together goes, it wasn't hard at all. I did it myself while my little ones were napping. It's just a matter of screwing the legs on. It did wobble a bit once I set it on the floor but I can guarantee it's my floors and not the bench. I just put a non-skid sole on the bottom of one of the legs and it fixed the problem.

The stool is very attractive. It looks just like the pictures. However, the directions could be better. The first direction says to read all written directions, but there are no written directions....just pictures which were difficult for me to follow. However, once I finally did get it assembled, I am very pleased.

This footstool is exactly what I was looking for to go with a Morris chair in a very small room. It's well built and sturdy. I'm not good with hand tools so it was a little difficult for me to put together, but once it was complete, I love it. It looks expensive, and I got free shipping!

The footstool is just like the one my Dad had when I was a kid. I looked every where for one and finaly found it. It's perfect for a club chair and looks good too.

Ordered two of the footstools with the slightly distressed black finish. We have used them for about 3 months. Easy to assemble and are of good quality materials. Most importantly, they look nice in my living room with other furniture. We use them as seating when we eat at our coffee table while watching TV or movies. Overall, very pleased with the purchase, and worth the price.

My bench arrived in just a few days. It is beautiful. This 65 yr old lady was able to put it together in about an hour. It went together like a well made puzzle.

Because this item was advertised as a "footstool," I use it as -- a footstool! It's both attractive and sturdy, but might have more comfortable were it 6" taller. A old sofa cushion, tossed on top, resolves this deficit.

This stool looks like the ones I had as a child and is as well made. Basic, simple, attractive and will fit with any decor. Love it!

Cute little bench. [...] Assembly seemed difficult, then I realized my mistake. Once that became clear, assembly was straightforward. The rattan is more rustic than it appears in the photo. I am a bit concerned on how it will hold up to kids but we will see. Color matches my other french country pieces--black with some rubbed wood showing through on the corners.
