We use fatwood to light our Fire Pit. Does the job every time. I like to use my hunting knife to split it down even smaller. You don't need as big of pieces to get a fire going. A box lasts a long time.

The fat wood is great, we cut it in half and then spilt those 2 or 3 times. Goes a long way.
The only down side, our box was not taped well and fat wood was coming out of the box, when we got it--we lost better then a pound.

Product is used in firepit outside by pool. Gets fire going in a small amount of time. A little smoky and smelly at times.

We bought these for the woodstove at our Vermont cabin. They made this cold winter much nicer! Anytime we needed to restart the fire, a couple of pieces of fatwood would get the job done quickly and efficiently. A 25-lb box lasted us all winter; I've ordered another box for next year already this spring.

Lighting a fire in windy, damp weather is difficult, even in a good woodstove. Fatwood has helped me overcome the problem of poor draw when the chimney and firebox are cold, and the winter winds are at gale force. It is *always* windy in the winter where I live, and my primary source of heat is a wood-fueled furnace. Fatwood is the best tool I've found to get the fire going quickly, and it was a life saver when ice storms took out the power for two weeks. In addition to ensuring heat from the furnace, it was essential to maintaining an outdoor flame in the fire ring for melting ice for water and the sub-zero cookout.

i have ordered your fatwood before, and my pleasure with the product is why i ordered again. however, your packaging needs revising. i lost about 2-3 #'s of the fatwood, falling out of the hand hole on the side of the box, before i recieved it. not pleased... last time i ordered the box was completely sealed, with no loss of product.

These fatwood sticks are a great alternative to those packaged firestarters that are really chemical-soaked cakes of sawdust. I just ordered a 25 lb. box and it was not well sealed - only one strip of tape across the top and it was not stuck to one flap of the box. No way to know if any sticks fell out in transit. Shipping dept. needs to use more than one strip of tape on a 25 lb. box, and better tape at that!

I use fatwood every morning to start a fire in our wood stove. It only takes two or three pieces combined with some kindling and smaller pieces of firewood to get a roaring fire in the stove. This beats everything else I have tried.

Would give it more stars if possible. Just returned from a camping trip to the Canyonlands, Utah. 3 sticks, a little paper and a single match and I had a roaring fire in no time at all. This stuff is awesome!!

No matter how old the wood stove is, like the old ones in the rental cabins, this Fat Wood will light the fire and your cabin will be comfy and cozy We have started cabin fires all season this year and I couldn't. be more pleased.
Once you light the fire, it STAYS lit.
I've used several types of fat wood, but, NOTHING comes close to this fat wood.
I now bring extra fat wood when we are outside to give other campers for their fires. The say "thank you, and later on after their usual starter material are not doing the "job," They come over and say, do you have any extra fat wood and where can I get some.

We have used this product for the last 3 years. It lights fast and gets our fires started without having to use kindling. Just put in about 3 in between the logs and they get the wood burning evenly. We just ordered our second box of fat wood.

I bought these to use in my wood stove which I have to relight each day. I used to use approximately 10 sheets of news paper before I tried this product and now I just use about 4 sheets with just 3 or 4 sticks of fat wood. I could use no papers but I would need to use a lot more sticks to start a fire and I feel this works well for me with the combination of both. The fat wood works well.

I use these in my wood burning insert stove. One stick to ignite the first kindling and larger sticks. Then the logs and the heat is on for the evening.

I always use on top of grate 10 sticks and place few small logs on top of the. Sticks in a criss cross fashion.
Put a rolled up , crunched up newspaper directly under the gra
Grate and pen flue.
Light up a hand rolled paper under flue to start the draft and them light part under the flue and watch the fire start
