They are not meant to be dissassembled so can not be moved. Based on the results of the first year's planting you may want to move the bed to another location with more favorable lighting or drainage. Because the plastic raised bed kit is pinned together, it can easily be disassembled and moved to another location which gives the gardener more options. Additionally, it is green which is more attractive than unpainted wood. The plastic will never rot like wood. The 4 foot by 4 foot size makes weeding easier because you are never more than 2 feet away from a weed and it is easy to bend over 2 feet. It looks great and was so simple to set up. She has 4 little boys and they each had a tool to use when planting which made a great education/play time. The only disappointment I have is that I could not buy it without the "row cover". Just don't need it and could have used the savings. We have used containers for last 10 years but really want to get back down at ground level. Since this is portable, we can use and move it as needed - or if caught! So when eventually cited for having a vegetable garden, we'll change it to a raised bed flower display with pine straw hiding the sides. Actually probably won't get caught unless the errant POA Board member golfer strays into our back yard hunting for his golf ball. Then we can show it is not a permanent fixture but portable!
