Dynamite Fire Starters are awesome. We have been using them for over a year in our fireplace. We have used numerous different types of fire starters to start our firewood but these have been the best by far. The box they come in are the center of conversation sometimes. lol I am happy we finally found something that will start our fire with ease. These are highly recommeded!

No need for kindling!! These things are perfect for lighting fires. Just one does the trick. Just add crumpled up newpapers, two pieces of dry wood and one match.

I bought 2 cases of the dynamite sticks and gave them as gifts. They were a huge hit, along with the crystals and pinecones and fat wood. I tried the dynamite sticks myself before giving them as gifts and was pleased with their performance. I think next Christmas, my daughters and son in laws will be looking forward to more of the same.

The initial shipment was severely damaged, every single one was broke in half and thirds but when I called Plow and Hearth to inform me they shipped an undamaged replacement box immediately. The product is great and I applaud P&H for their timely resolution to this matter.

We buy these and use the firestarters for camping and the boxes; we put wheels, inside hinges, handle for opening, a clasp to shut it and a rope and wooden ball at the end for the kids to pull around then we put abc/123 large wooden blocks inside and give it to all kids we know at their 1st birthday party and everyone loves it.

We heat our home with wood, and thought these would make a unique and unexpected gift for my husband- while still being very functional.
He was shocked to open a nix of dynamite to say the least. These start so well in our stove that we can actually use 1/3 to get the fire going strong.

The fire starters themselves work really well. The gimmick to this product, and the reason my wife ordered it for me, is that you can reuse the cleverly decorated crate (looks like a case of dynamite) by purchasing refills. The PROBLEM is that within a day or two, the screws holding the lid hinges in place stripped out of their holes and the lid no longer closes properly and/or is easily knocked off so that is just looks like a broken box. Not the presentation piece you want to have sitting on display near the fire as shown in the catalog. Of course I can fix the lid, but my wife is sorely disappointed that I will have to waste time fixing a gift she thoughtfully provided but broke almost immediately upon use...and no I am not going to go through the hassle of trying to mail the crate back for exchange!!!

These are not so great. Fatwood is much better tho the add that only a few pieces are needed is false. Once started it will burn but does not start a fire without a lot of it.

Works perfectly! Even though I have a gas starter, I still use the starters because they get the fire hot sooner.

I got these for my dad and my father in law who are both hard to buy for. They have different styles but they both liked the gift. Don't know if the sticks worked but everyone thought the box was cool.

this would have been perfect, but the hinges are cheap, two screws were out and will come out easily again if not glued in. If you can handle going through this doodah, have at it, it's attractive. Don't think much about shipping anything back, the boxes are on their last legs and panting when they arrive.

The sticks are rather large - only need maybe half of one to start a good fire.
