Dynamite Fire Starters
Great For Hearth, Outdoor Firepit And Camping
These fire-starter sticks aren't explosive, but they do a great job of starting a blaze - and get plenty of attention on the hearth. The replica crate is made of finger-jointed cedar for years of use - it's a fun reminder of a time when you could buy a box of dynamite at your local general store.

Holds 20 sticks of paraffin and sawdust fire starters, which burn for about 30 minutes each. Just break off a piece to light even stubborn wood. Great for camping, too! USA.

This firestarter is terrific. The sticks of "dynamite" break easily and can be placed throughout the firebed for easy fire starting.

      Comments about Dynamite Fire Starters:

Fire Starters are another great gift for that someone who has everything. The people I've given them to were first intrigued by the weight of the box, then were amazed by the name of the powder company burned into the reusable hinged wooden crate. When they saw what was inside, they laughed, and were delighted. The Fire Starters work very well indoors or out. The user may cut or break them in pieces. Carrying one in a pocket on the way to a campfire is sure to engender comments.

        Verified Buyer

        Pros

        • Attractive wood container
        • No separating necessary
        • No stickygluey feeling
        • Pleasant burn scent

        Cons

          Best Uses

          • fireplace
          • Start Rekindle
          • Wood-burning stove

          Comments about Dynamite Fire Starters:

I purchased these dynamite-shaped fire starters to use with our catalytic wood-burning stove. I noticed the price was comparable to the fire-starter bricks I had been purchasing at the big box store and decided to give them a try. I dislike having to separate the traditional tarry brick-like fire-starter sticks. The quality and burn time of the dynamite starters is better than the brick-like starters I had used. The pleasant smell is also a huge plus for me. The dynamite sticks don't smell "fumy" when they burn like the tarry bricks did. So...the dynamite starters, in my opinion, look better, smell better, and do their job better than the common brick-type starters many stores stores sell. You might also be interested putting your dynamite fire starters in the wooden box, which Plow and Hearth also sells to hold the dynamite starters. The attractive box sits on our hearth and we just put in this refill pack every time we run out.

I noticed the price was comparable to the fire-starter bricks I had been purchasing at the big box store and decided to give them a try. I dislike having to separate the traditional tarry brick-like fire-starter sticks and I don't like the way they just seem to sit around in their unattractive plastic or cardboard box packaging looking unattractive. When I received the dynamite sticks, I felt like the box was attractive enough just to sit right on the hearth in plain view. Moreover, the quality and burn time of the dynamite starters is better than the brick-like starters I had used. The pleasant smell is also a huge plus for me. The dynamite sticks don't smell "fumy" when they burn like the tarry bricks did.
