This arbor took a reasonable amount of time to put together. It is a little awkward to completely assemble indoors but since it was so hot outside, I assembled the top arch, each of the two sides and then took it outside to finish putting it together. You need to look carefully to get the decorative scroll work on the outside of the arbor. If you do it wrong, most people probably would not notice. There is a clear diagram for the parts, but there is a right and wrong side to each of the narrow pieces and the directions do not mention this. The side panels do not have a right and wrong side. The directions say/show nothing about assembling it correctly, but I read it in someone else's review--thought I would repeat it because it was very useful for me. This arbor weighs about 50 pounds. It is very sturdy and has about 5 inches of metal at the bottom to put into the ground. I am using this over a climbing rosebush instead of as an arch through which to walk. The trellis for my rosebush had broken, and the bush is huge. I have woven the bush through the arbor and can't wait until next spring to see the arbor covered in flowers when the rosebush blooms. This arbor is relatively free standing even though the bottom is only in the ground a little bit. I would be concerned if I had this arbor standing out in the open and would probably use angular tent stakes to reinforce the way it is held into the ground. In my situation, I don't need to do this. I don't think I hurricane could take out the rosebush and it is completely woven into the arbor.

This is being used for a wedding outside by the river where my daughter lives, by the time the flowers and grass grow it will make an absoultly gorgeous center piece to get married under.

We installed this arbor over a 46" wide walkway. It was really easy to put together. The directions just have pictures (no written description) but my kids helped look at the pictures and find the right parts. We just put in a clematis on each side to climb over the top. It looks great and seems very sturdy.

Love the look of the arbor. [...] assembly not too hard. Wish the gate were a little taller as this arbor was purchased to keep out deer from our patio. They might risk jumping over gate if they get hungry enough. Hung a plant from top to discourage that.
