This fountain sits in a sunny corner of my outside deck. I agree with a previous viewers comment that the solar panel works best in direct sunlight and I did have a problem where a rabbit chewed through the pump cord. The bowls must be taken in before freezing temps and the inner portion does show some wear but that is to be expected. I keep a small handful of stones to weigh down the pump. Birds sometime use it as a bird bath. When flowing it has a lovely sound and I would recommend this product. I wish the pump were more sturdy as a replacement pump is somewhat costly-almost cheaper to buy a complete new fountain when they go on sale!

Product displayed on outdoor deck in the sun. Because the saucers don't fit properly, when the sun goes in or behind a cloud the water misses the saucer and drips out of the unit. We have tried adjusting the saucers many many times to try to get them lined up so that they do not drip outside the unit, but have not found the proper angle as yet. Also one of the saucers coating is alreay peeling. I have only had this unit about a month or so and this should not be happening.

Terra Cotta is a painted on finish

Comments about Plowhearth Terra Cotta Cascade Fountain:
I use this on my patio. The solar panel needs full sun to power the unit. My only real disappointment is with the finish. It's a painted on terra cotta, instead of a real one. A real terra cotta with a sealant would've been better. The insides of all of my bowls have flaked off to reveal a sort of eggshell color clay base.

My wife had been pining over having one of these in the back yard for our birds for over a year. Low and behold, it was on sale for less than the sale price[...] was a snap to setup, and the birds love it. So does my wife. Going to purchase another one for her for christmas.

Would not waste the money
I really like the look of the terra cotta, looked great on the deck. After a few weeks, noticed the finish started to flake and just got worse. The outside is fine. The filter needs to be larger. I would not recommend it.
not good product, very inferior

Not true terra cotta as advertised and I'm very disappointed. It looked so nice in the ad. So sorry to report this to you.
Beauty + tranquility, not much stability

I love the way the fountain looks all the time and the gentle, burbling sound it makes when the sun is shining and the water flows. However: I wish it had a small storage battery so that it wouldn't shut off the moment the sun goes behind a cloudAnd: I really, really wish the cascading bowls had a more secure mounting. Curious animals have already knocked the bowls off several times. One broke, but I was able to repair it.
Mom loves it...thats all that matters.

I love this fountain - it costs nothing to run as it is solar - nothing to plug in, and the solar panel can be placed at a great distance from the fountain. The water sound is lovely, it's very easy to set up, and looks great. I do change the water about once a month as where I have it the wind can sometimes blow debris into it. But it's worth it!

I was very upset because the finish peeled off. I returned it with no problem.
Poor alignment - Bowl leak
from Katy, Texas
Poor quality control on stand. I needed to add spacers so the bowls would drop water into the bowl beneath it. The bottom bowl had small leaks. I had to coat the inside of the entire bowl with several coats of a sealer in order to make it water tight !

I am delighted with the fountain. It was better than I expected.
