I recently purchased these to light up the garden bed areas around my front door. Not only are these beautiful spot lights, the fact that they are run on solar energy makes them easy to use without the hassle of batteries or electricity cords. I am definitely going to go back and buy some more!

Work as promised, look great,

Love solar products that work. We live outside city, away from city lights. Solar makes garden look so pretty at night.

About Me Do-It-Yourself
I set these lights in the ground to shine on the front of the house (uplighting). The arm with light can't be raised high enough to shine on the middle to upper portion of the house front. Setting them further away dilutes the strength of the light.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Not up to P&H standards. P&H does offer other very good lighting. This is not one of them.

Had to take one apart to get it to work. Very low power. Fine for a bush or steps or a pathway. I wanted them to light up a sign and they do a very poor job of that.

Not All That Reliable
from San Carlos, CA
I ordered a set of two, one works perfectly, almost over night, the other only lasts for one hour at dusk. I've changed the batteries once and it still is no better. Don't know if this is a product problem but I've had others that lasted for years and were lite until the wee hours of the morning.

Need to illuminate a flag on a pole - this doesn't even begin to cast enough light - although i set it in a pot on my railing and it only had to reach 8 feet!

Returned the product, not sure why Plow and Hearth sells the product. Very disappointed.

Great idea but light output is weak
By Gardening Coach

I purchased these lights with the intent of lighting-up a small ornamental tree. The light they put out was not enough for the purpose. From six feet away, they produced a white glow on the tree. It was unimpressive.

I ordered two of these. They are in a small garden in the front of our house and illuminate whatever is currently flowering. They are easy to move so I can spotlight different areas. Just a small light but it's bright enough for a small area.
from Asheville, NC
Very bright light and attractive design. Hard to illuminate taller objects due to limited tilt of the light upward as it hits the solar panel.
I would buy these light again

All pros and no cons, what more can I say?
Spots not for large spaces...
from Bath, MI
We were disappointed that the spotlights did not illuminate as well as we thought they would. We are using to show our front steps instead of where we originally wanted to use them...on our flag.

Not too bright

I wanted to highlight some plants in my yard but the light really isn't bright enough for that.
Not a lot of light, but still nice.
from Dallas, TX
These are nicely finished lights. Do not expect a spot light. Instead you get a broad bluish wash. It will illuminate about 10 stairs or do a gentle wash of a wall for drama. It does provide enough gentle illumination for safety. We enjoyed them after we found the proper application.
best solar light I have owned so far.

Doesn't shine UP
from Hudson, WI
Great light, but it doesn't shine UP onto a tree like I originally wanted, but I still have a use for it. A beautiful "white" light. Even works after a cloudy day.
from North Providence, RI
Wanted to illuminate a stone lion I painted in bright colors. Even at a distance of three feet, the light is so dim that the lion is barely visible.
