Portable Easy-To-Use Fireplace Ash Vac

Purchased this product to clean my pellet stove.Excited to receive it I was very disappointed after only using a few minutes filter became clogged motor began to overheat .This product clogs easily ,your constantly cleaning the filter.I believe it needs a secondary filter system .Not worth the purchase price!

As long as you don't have a big fireplace or big fire you should be finebut is slow due to lower power suction

I received this vacuum for a Christmas present and was very excited to use it to clean our woodburning fireplace insert. It started strong, but quickly (less than 30 seconds) clogged. The ash I was vacuuming completely clogged the filter and stopped sucking extremely fast for a vacuum designed for ash. It is designed to hold 4 gallons. I was lucky if I got 1/2 gallon of ash before all suction was lost. I had to take the filter apart outside and clean it to restore suction. This would make a great vacuum to keep close to the fireplace to vacuum up debris and SMALL amounts of ash that fall on the hearth, rug, etc.. It is NOT a vacuum that should be sold as a fireplace cleaning vacuum. It just clogs way too quickly. It's faster and easier to use a metal scoop to clean the fireplace than this vacuum. Disappointed, but will still keep it to use outside of the fireplace.

We found that the pre-filter clogs too easily and you lose suction. You can't pick up anything else but ashes - meaning no chuncks, so what's the point? You still have to do the main work with other tools - so to me it's a waste of time -- a gadget that doesn't really meet my needs.

But my husband likes it to get nooks and crannies, such as the runner for the protective netting of the stove, and I guess it will be good for the final cleaning after the season.
