After moving into a Condo from a large home, my wife missed her garden. We purchased the planter/trellis and set it up on our small front porch. To elliminate the possibility of it blowing over in high winds, I installed a white shower curtain rod accross the upper portion of the trellis and fastened it with white cable ties.The rod itself is adjustable and it spans from a post to the siding of the house. It is perfect with climbing flowers. I left the wheels on (locked) for ease of moving it into the garage off season. The auto watering system is ideal. Great addition.

When I read the reviews I was a bit concerned about it tipping over in the wind. Not a problem at all for me. I am just starting seeds for Peas in it and the trellis is not covered yet. I keep the resevoir full. I LOVE the wheels as I can move it around to where the sun is shining with no problems. I am very pleased with this item.

I was so excited to get these (I ordered 2) and they are so tiny and so flimsy. For the price, I was expecting a more quality item. Other reviewers described these as lightweight over priced, and they were 100% correct! Not satisfied with this product.

I have 2, only one sort of self waters. The self watering mechanism is very flimsy. I do however like the appearance of the white planters. I have them back to back. One on the patio and the other inside the screen porch. They are a good way to display climbing flowers in both areas without looking at the back of a planter.

I bought these to create a partial blind area near my hot tub and give me some garden space on a highly concrete area. I do wish the trellis part were a bit taller, but overall it is exactly what I was looking for. I bought 4 so I could place them back to back and give more stability from the wind, which seemed to be a common issue on the posts on here. It works beautifully. I am ordering 2 more today so I can have a row of 3 back to back. We already had our first rain and highly windy storm and they survived in tact! I planted 2 tomato plants in one, 4 pepper plants in one, 2 cucumber plants in one, and 4 strawberry plants in one if that gives you any idea on the size of the planting area.

One trellis was damaged in transit - customer service gave me a $20 credit. They are not as sturdy as I thought for the price. I will probably use for a summer only and perhaps replace. I love and have bought several plow & hearth products but this is not one I would recommend.

The plastic is thin. I was expecting a more durable, resin type material. I doubt this planter will survive the elements for very long. Also, the drain holes were not predrilled.

I purchased two of these a couple years ago to obscure the pool filter. They do the job beautifully. When I first got them had the same issue as others who've commented, tipped over in the wind etc. Here's how I solved it.
1. Took off the wheels
2. Placed a 7"x 16" patio block in the bottom of the planter.
3. Did not fill the planter with dirt, instead had 2 planters just a bit smaller that I filled w/ dirt & placed inside the trellis planter, right on top of the patio block. Makes it easier to clean up in the fall, just lift out smaller planter, to be left out all winter, while the trellis planters, with trellis taken off, stack inside eachother for storage in the garage.

Light, attractive and easy to assemble trellis planter that I am using on my terrace. I followed advice from other users and ditched the wheels and loaded it with stones. It seems to be working well, good capacity but I have 2 main complaints. I ordered a white trellis but it's actually ivory, which is annoying when the other P&H planters are brilliant white. Secondly, the sponge indicator at the water filler is flimsy and doesn't appear to do anything. Overall seems expensive for what it is.

had to drill lots of holes in the bottom so my plants didn't die...this is NOT a self watering system...I will stick with the earth box...now they are nice and my plants grow great in them...

I bought these trellis planters so I can put them up on the porch and the deer cannot eat my flowers! The planter is on wheels so it is easy to move around if getting too much sun or shade!

Oops, my mistake.

I had a location in mind when I purchased these with the trellis but was disappointed when they did not fit in with the look I was seeking.

The construction is fine, albeit a little light and will probably need anchoring and not as sturdy as I had hoped. I can foresee the plastic cracking at some point.

I bought 4 of these to add privacy and beauty to my back deck, and these achieve that - once they are set up Securely. Of course when they arrived, we had the worst wind ever, and I tried everything I could, to make these stay on my deck. I even put a brick in the bottom, and they still tipped over the sides, and fell off. Finally I had to pound stakes into the ground by the decking and attach the trellises to these, and they stayed. Overall - I'm still happy I bought them, because no units were as nice looking. I've planted dahlias in mine, and will tie the plants to the trellis for support. One of the other reviewers complained of drainage, but you have to drill holes in the bottom when they arrive, and that should do the trick. I would still recommend these. I love how they look.

I bought this for the front entry way to my home. It's much smaller than it appears online, it was easy to assemble. I'm not using the rolling wheels that are included, as I wanted it to be stationary. I think the price should have been less, if you decided if you don't want them. With the shipping charges, I'm not sure, if this was really a good deal or not. Seems a lot for what it actually is.

I put the planters at the end of our driveway to give us privacy from the road. It's a bonus having the wheels so we can move it around when we need to. Great product.

I am growing tomatoes and cucumbers in them on my deck. They are attractive and great for training the cucumbers up the trellis and attaching the tomatoes without having ugly stakes.

Prior to purchasing I was worried that it might blow over in strong winds. Not a problem whatsoever. This year I had the most beautiful flowers ever. Nothing dried out! I was also blessed with a bumper crop of monarch caterpillars who were drawn to the healthy plants. I could not be more pleased and plan to buy another one in the spring.

The trellis attaches to the base planter very loosely...we bolted them together and have yet to see how it holds up in the wind. Didn't use the wheels or watering-indicator (who needs that?). But they look great and are easy to use.

I bought these to provide a little privacy on my deck. I planted a climbing flower that is thriving, and lettuce/spinach along the bottom. Works like a charm! The only time it moved in the wind was when Hurricane Irene blew over, otherwise I've had no problems!

I LOVE my trellis planters! I bought 3 to "disguise" my a/c compressor, which had to go on my patio b/c of zoning laws (sigh). They were easy to put together and roll easily to wherever the sun is. I planted morning glories, clematis and a tomato plant in each. They are climbing quickly and should start blooming soon. My only wish is that the planters came in a wider width--my compressor is 36" wide! But it's much nicer to look at the lovely planters than an ugly compressor! If you live in a windy area, you might want to remove the wheels and/or put some stones in the planter base. The water reservoir keeps my plants well-watered! Thank you Plow and Hearth!
