Comments about Product: We purchased two of these, put side by side at our back steps where it tends to be a little muddy when it rains. We stained them the color of our deck, added stepping stones painted the same color. We used wire/metal stakes in-between slats randomly to hold it in place. It is not in an area we will be walking on all the time, so I can't say how durable they will be, but they sure look nice, and serve our purpose. I have included two pictures to show you.
Comments about Product: I have purchased 4 other pathways and this last one I bought is of a much different quality. The wooden slats aren't as sturdy and are also not grooved on one side which seems to help limit shifting. I will be interested to see how it holds up in the garden this season.
Comments about Product: The pathways are great because we have a dog and he was wearing a path around the garden areas and they were always muddy after it rained. Then he would track in mud onto our floors. Now he stays on the pathways and his paws are always pretty clean when he comes in. We like that.
Comments about Product: I have an area in the rear of my property where I have multiple bird feeders. The seed buildup under the feeders turns into a smelly swamp when it rains. After the pathway was delivered yesterday, I raked the ground a bit to level it some, then unrolled the pathway. It looked great, but would it work? It rained overnight and all day today but when I went to fill the feeders awhile ago, I was able to walk to the very last one without having my shoes sucked from my feet. It was wonderful!! I like the fact that, if need be, it can be rolled up and moved to another problem area, but I'll probably just buy an additional path.
Comments about Product: During spring thaws and rain we have problems getting to and from our cars due to mud. These walkways have been awesome! We can't imagine how we got along without them before this spring.
Comments about Product: Bought a pathway for my church, as the pathway from the parking lot to the building that we're in is steep dirt, which gets muddy when it rains. Added some tread tape that I found on [@] for additional traction. One of the wires that keep all the planks together came loose from its fastener, and a few planks got loose on one side. A little TLC was necessary but then it was fine. Overall a great product.
Comments about Product: I have an older version of this that had a grooved surface on the treads, which I prefer. That said, these are easy to use and look great. No more tromping through the low, wet spots in the yard.
Comments about Product: Gave the wooden pathway to my daughter and son-in-law as an anniversary gift. They liked it very much and are planning to add to it after they see how it holds up to the Moro Bay, Ca weather.
Comments about Product: We bought the pathways to allow us to navigate a muddy patch during remodeling of our house. Now they're useful as a sliding surface to launch our pedal boat over some riprap rocks. Other uses will surely follow...
Comments about Product: I use this pathway between the front door of my townhouse and the outside entrance to my deck. I bought it in November, took it out of the box and laid it directly on the ground. Easy! The elements have not bothered it one bit. Much of my small yard has sparse grass. The pathway looks much nicer than my muddy intermittent grass! I did not have to level the ground under it. It's steady to walk on, except in freezing rain conditions, but then again no surface is walk-able in freezing rain conditions. The planks have not separated at all. I am very happy with it.
Comments about Product: We had a path through the small flowerbed lined with cedar chips, but the bunnies and squirrels scattered it about. I put this path on top, leveled it a bit and it was perfect. I had the exposed wire version and even with storing it over winter, it fell apart. I'm ordering a new one anyway, it was worth it for even the three years I had it. It seems people think the newer ones are narrower...I hope not, the proportion was perfect originally.
Comments about Product: Very pleased if it holds up well. Using it as a walkway to back gate of townhome until new permanent walk can be installed. very sturdy and sits up nicely off ground. Price was excellent and if it holds up well ,will use it in garden.
Comments about Product: I have three of these pathways in my garden. I store them for winter. The first three I had the wire that links the slats together rusted and broke and the pathway fell apart. [...]. The new design features plastic sheathed connecting wire and so far it has been a major design/construction improvement.
Comments about Product: These were great. I have a small space behind my deck with lots of tree roots that prevent me from putting in a patio. These walkways were great for an area that can get wet and muddy under those big trees. I use them around my various bbq grills (3 of them) and let me have easy access throughout the year. They lasted about three years before I had to replace them.
Comments about Product: I like the product so far. Looks good, and is doing exactly what I want done. The only concern I have is that the connecting wires look very cheap. I am concern that they will not last that long, but time will tell. I would have rated it a 5 but I am afraid that the wires are not going to last.
Comments about Product: We had a problem with fallen pine needles in the path from our pool, which made walking painful, and we tracked in the needles. Now we are above the needles, and the few that fall can be swept off of the walkway. We ended up purchasing three of them. My visiting brother remarked, "We should have thought of this years ago!"
Comments about Product: I'm landscaping my back yard from scratch and added this walkway from my deck to my landscape area where I have my water feature. Many compliments, even from the owner of a landscape service!
Comments about Product: It makes a nice walkway to an above ground pool ladder. It was simple to install - just roll it out. I haven't had it long enough to comment on the durability, but it's helped keep my pool deck cleaner.
Comments about Product: We recently had our outdoor A/C units cleaned with acid which killed the grass and left a muddy mess right in front of the backyard gate. The Wooden Pathway solved our problem; it fit easily under the gate and keeps our feet dry and clean - even the lawn mower glides easily over it. I am planning on purchasing another one for other areas of our yard. I[...]
Comments about Product: We bought both the straight and curved walkways for two different areas and love them both. They are great as a walking path and we get lots of complements on how nice they look in the yard.
Comments about Product: We used the wooden pathways in our backyard to get around the back of the house to the patio on the other side. The yard has muddy spots, and we were also wearing a path in the section that had grass. It solved all our problems and it looks nice. Our great-grandkids like to walk on it because it looks like train tracks.
Comments about Product: I used the 8' straight pathway between two flower beds, making the area accessible for weeding, etc. The pathway is very sturdy, looks lovely and natural in place, holds up well to children and dogs, and was very easy to lay in place. I'm planning to order more of these.
Comments about Product: The wire stringers are the first to rot, they are microfine wires just twisted together. They needed to be restrung before end of 1st summer. Year 2 some the slats themselves have rotted. Needed to remove rotted slats (since when does cedar rot so quickly?) and, once again, restring them. Too much money for such poor quality. Too much work, too frequently.
Comments about Product: I have a concrete area leading outside from the lower level of my home. It's always damp and somewhat moldy because it gets very little sunlight. I covered the entire area with the wooden paths -- it was the perfect solution! Now, it looks great and we don't have to step on wet mold every time we go out.
Comments about Product: We ordered 2 different wood pathways at different times within a 6-mos time period and even though they had the same color "lot" number, they were clearly 2 different colors when we placed them end to end. We like them - other than that issue.
Comments about Product: Absolutely love this product. I have bought both curved and straight. Very good for creating walkways anywhere in the yard. Excellent to protect and go over tree roots - easy to place and let's you walk safely. One suggestion - keep it in place - do not move it once it has been in place for several years. Mine survived at least 3 midwest winters and only came apart because I tried to move it.
Comments about Product: I used this product to create a pathway on the side of my beach house.
I needed something to make it easy to walk over the sand. I decorated
either side of the pathway with shells I collected on beach. It's beautiful- plus the best part is that I was able to
roll it up and store it away for the winter. I have nothing negative to say
about the product. The only improvement (and it may already have this
feature) i could recommend is having an attachment feature
to connect the pathways together. I put 3 in a row.
Comments about Product: This wooden pathway has made all the difference in my wet, marshy garden. The pathway is not only functional, but it adds great style and design to my garden. The wooden pathway is of good quality and stays in place. It worked so well in my garden that I purchased 2 of them. Now I can get around my garden without getting my shoes wet.
Comments about Product: This curved pathway is the perfect addition to the wooden pathway. This curved pathway gives you the ability to customize your paths. Made of the same good quality as the 8ft. pathway, the curved pathway is sturdy and heavy so that it stays in place. The product is quite durable and has stood up to foot traffic and wet, marshy ground.

The Olla: A Brief History
Olla (Spanish, pronounced “oh-ya”) jars have been around since ancient times. Made of unglazed ceramic, ollas traditionally have short, narrow necks with wider bodies, and are made in a variety of shapes. They have been used for thousands of years for cooking, storage, and plant irrigation.
When used to irrigate plants, an olla is buried neck-deep in the ground near a plant’s roots, with the opening of the olla extended above the soil so that it can be filled with water periodically. The porous walls of the unglazed pottery allow the water to seep through gradually, constantly and consistently hydrating the plants without overwatering them – and without wasting precious water to evaporation or runoff.
The use of ollas for irrigation was introduced to the American Southwest by Spanish conquistadors during Colonial times, becoming very common among Native American tribes and Hispanic settlers. Though the technique gave way to more modern methods of irrigation some time ago, its superior efficiency, coupled with its simplicity, has caused it to make a comeback. Though the technique has changed little since its introduction, today’s ollas are usually capped off, making them even more water-efficient.
Perfect for home gardens, Ollas are a super-easy, eco-friendly, less time-consuming way to water annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and plants of all kinds in dry, sandy soil, very hot or drought-prone areas, raised beds, and even pots, planters and hanging baskets. Fill the olla before you leave on a short vacation to enjoy worry-free watering – and a smaller water bill!
