Comments about Product: I love the fingerless gloves! I walk several miles every morning in the coldest part of the day and I was ssuprised at how warm they are. Fellow walkers have commented at how I do not need to take off my "mittens" to blow my nose, which often happens in cold weather. I found them so warm, in fact, that I often take them off because my hands are too hot (hard to say in 20 degree weather). During one occasion I realized I lost one on my 4 mile walk and could not find it. That very day I reordered another pair in red so I could find it easier if it happens again. Love the gloves!!!!
Comments about Product: Adopted a 12 year old Chocolate lab that loves to be walked alot!!! Needed some fingerless gloves that would keep my hands warm plus allow me to manage the baggies for his 'business'. These are perfect for me; warm but easy to convert to use my fingers.
Comments about Product: Love these gloves. Nice quality, warm and comfy. Magnetized flap didn't work properly on one glove and a representative happily sent a replacement pair which are perfect. Would buy again.
Comments about Product: These gloves are amazing in so many ways! They are are warm, durable and very convenient when needing to have fingers free for texting! I also love the small magnets that keeps the flap from flapping around and the little secret zippered pouch. I purchased a pair for all of my family members.
Comments about Product: I had gotten a pair of gloves like this about 15 years ago and was sad once they wore out because I couldn't find ones that were heavy, durable and warm enough. But, I just have!!! These are fabulous gloves and have proven warm, comfy, and convenient to wear when out shopping…. Thank you!!!!
Comments about Product: I'm a dog walker and these are great for work. The zipper pouches are perfect to keep spare poop bags in, or keys. I really like the grippy part, since it's important for me to have a good grip on leashes.
Comments about Product: Love these. They are made very well. Nice and warm. Zipper pocket is great for keys or other small items. There is a small magnet at the tip of the mitten and top of glove, so if you flip off the mitten top, it automatically attaches to the top and out of the way of your fingers. Definitely will buy additional pairs.
Comments about Product: I love the color (bright red) and how soft and stretchy the gloves are. I put them on and took a walk. I discovered that my fingers quickly got cold because there was only one layer of fleece over them.
Comments about Product: Thought these would be a useful glove. However they are poorly constructed. There were so many loose and uncut threads that my fingers kept getting caught in the finger holes. Also the mitten part is so thin that they' re not warm gloves at all and my fingertips were cold wearing them. Never experienced that with other gloves. Wore them 3 times and the seam is already opening up between the zipper compartment that I never even used! I waited forever for these as they were backordered for months and were certainly not worth the wait.
Comments about Product: These mitts are great for walking the dog up here in the Northeast! Being able to expose not just my finger tips, but my thumb as well makes certain tasks so much easier! I can pull out and open up the bags to clean up after my pooch, and training with treats is a snap! I got a pair for Christmas, and love them so much I'm buying another pair!
Comments about Product: My husband LOVES these mittens and called them "one of the best gifts" he got this Christmas! He wore them during a football game and then while shoveling snow a few days later. Glad I got a pair for myself too - they are a conversation starter - sure to send folks to P&H to purchase.
Comments about Product: These gloves are great because they're warm and cozy, but I don't have to take them all the way off to do something like answer my cell phone or change tracks on my iPod. I also like the little grippy things on the palm of the had because they make driving easier. Oh, and the little zipper thingy is a perfect spot to tuck my house key when I go out for a run.

The Olla: A Brief History
Olla (Spanish, pronounced “oh-ya”) jars have been around since ancient times. Made of unglazed ceramic, ollas traditionally have short, narrow necks with wider bodies, and are made in a variety of shapes. They have been used for thousands of years for cooking, storage, and plant irrigation.
When used to irrigate plants, an olla is buried neck-deep in the ground near a plant’s roots, with the opening of the olla extended above the soil so that it can be filled with water periodically. The porous walls of the unglazed pottery allow the water to seep through gradually, constantly and consistently hydrating the plants without overwatering them – and without wasting precious water to evaporation or runoff.
The use of ollas for irrigation was introduced to the American Southwest by Spanish conquistadors during Colonial times, becoming very common among Native American tribes and Hispanic settlers. Though the technique gave way to more modern methods of irrigation some time ago, its superior efficiency, coupled with its simplicity, has caused it to make a comeback. Though the technique has changed little since its introduction, today’s ollas are usually capped off, making them even more water-efficient.
Perfect for home gardens, Ollas are a super-easy, eco-friendly, less time-consuming way to water annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and plants of all kinds in dry, sandy soil, very hot or drought-prone areas, raised beds, and even pots, planters and hanging baskets. Fill the olla before you leave on a short vacation to enjoy worry-free watering – and a smaller water bill!
