Roung air conditioner cover
Comments about Product:
I purchased this cover to use not to cover an air conditioner, but to cover fairly wide and tall expensive pottery pots for the winter! I have purchased these particular covers for a variety of things and they hold up extremely well in the winter to protect furniture, etc. With a little adjusting, I think they will serve my purpose very nicely! Thank you Plow and Hearth!

Round Air Conditioner Cover
Comments about Product:
I purchased this for my outside air conditoner. The one I had the previous year was light, flimsy and blew off even with the bungee oord that was given, which I bought at a local hardware store. Plow and Hearth I give credit to. It is very well made and will last for several years to come. It went on easy and it's tied down for the winter months. For me this was money well spent.

Works like a charm!
Comments about Product:
We bought one of these air conditioner covers last year to use as a cover for a two tier metal flower basket stand that we needed to leave outside for the winter. It worked so well and kept the flower stand in such good condtion that, this year, when we bought a second two tier stand, we naturally had to get a second cover for it. It's easy to put on and take off. Because of our experience last winter when it was very snowy, we know that it will stand up to all kinds of weather. Kudos to the manufacturer!

Just what I was looking for.
Comments about Product:
Nice size, easy to handle. Fits over my air condition unit with room to spare. Made of heavy material that will keep leaves, rain and snow out of unit. Always happy with products purchased from your company !

Multiple uses for this cover!
Comments about Product:
We bought this cover, not to use as an air conditioner cover, but to protect an outdoor planter for the winter. The dimensions were just right and the cover fit over the planter perfectly. It is heavy duty and durable. And, I particularly like the included tie-downs to keep the cover in place.

The Olla: A Brief History

Olla (Spanish, pronounced “oh-ya”) jars have been around since ancient times. Made of unglazed ceramic, ollas traditionally have short, narrow necks with wider bodies, and are made in a variety of shapes. They have been used for thousands of years for cooking, storage, and plant irrigation.

When used to irrigate plants, an olla is buried neck-deep in the ground near a plant’s roots, with the opening of the olla extended above the soil so that it can be filled with water periodically. The porous walls of the unglazed pottery allow the water to seep through gradually, constantly and consistently hydrating the plants without overwatering them – and without wasting precious water to evaporation or runoff.

The use of ollas for irrigation was introduced to the American Southwest by Spanish conquistadors during Colonial times, becoming very common among Native American tribes and Hispanic settlers. Though the technique gave way to more modern methods of irrigation some time ago, its superior efficiency, coupled with its simplicity, has caused it to make a comeback. Though the technique has changed little since its introduction, today’s ollas are usually capped off, making them even more water-efficient.

Perfect for home gardens, Ollas are a super-easy, eco-friendly, less time-consuming way to water annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and plants of all kinds in dry, sandy soil, very hot or drought-prone areas, raised beds, and even pots, planters and hanging baskets. Fill the olla before you leave on a short vacation to enjoy worry-free watering – and a smaller water bill!

How it Works:

Water is pulled directly through the terra-cotta!
