I don't like having no shut off. The pump will run if you have full sun but by the time I get home it doesn't. It doesnt store energy so it will never run at night. For [$] I don't think this is a good deal. I did find out you can buy a panel that is capable of storing plus has a shut off...[$]its pretty but not worth the money. I am hoping I can enjoy on the weekends

Comments about Plowhearth Slate Solar Fountain:

I have had this fountain for 3 years. As the reviews state - it only pumps in direct sunlight - moving cloud shadow will stop it. does not pump with any force. Slate is mere veneer and will flake off - mine is almost all off now. Disappointed in the price - is not what you think you are paying for - would have paid twice for a fountain that is authentic or at least maintains appearance. Pump has worked fine.

Comments about Plowhearth Slate Solar Fountain:

Love the design & ease of use of this fountain, but after only a year or 2, pieces of slate fell off & now it leaks & we're trying to re-line it with fiberglass. Surprising for the cost...

Comments about Plowhearth Slate Solar Fountain:

The fountain is exactly as described. I have it on my deck, and enjoy watching it burble all day. I put a few stones in it to make it more interesting, but it is lovely. I am considering putting a more powerful pump in it, the water doesn't really come out very strongly most of the time, but the gentle trickle is pleasing. Overall I am very happy with it!

Comments about Plowhearth Slate Solar Fountain:

I have had this fountain for less than 3 seasons and the top tier has unsealed (the glue) and now fallen apart. There are also very ugly seam marks where it was put together that makes it look cheap which it is certainly not given the price. The panel and pump connection have failed so if I want to use it these season I need to buy a whole new solar panel. I am very disappointed with this product.

Comments about Plowhearth Slate Solar Fountain:

If you have an area that gets a lot of direct sunlight this is the fountain for you. Unfortunately my deck only gets 4 hours of direct sun so it is silent the rest of the time. I wanted to hear and see it at night so this didn't work for me. It was out on a few nights the temp went down to freezing but it still came right on the next day./

Comments about Plowhearth Slate Solar Fountain:

High quality, good construct, easy to store over the winter, good size for small landscaped areas. On a quiet day, I can hear the sound of trickling water for some distance from the fountain in my backyard. With potted flowers placed around the fountain, should be a great attraction for butterflies, etc. This is my first full summer to use the fountain. Purchased it in late summer of 2009. With careful storage of the solar panel, should last for many years.
