Pattern Lovely; Fabric Disappointing
Comments about Product:
The pattern with the colors are quite nice. Only time will tell how the fabric holds up; for now, the texture is disappointing. The seating comfort is not as soft as hoped for.

not enough density to the cushion
Comments about Product:
I Found the fabric a good choice for outside use and the pattern that I choose is very attractive. Goes well with chairs and anderondeck chairs as well. I just felt the price even sale should be lower because of the workmenship of them. Pillow foam just stuffed in it with corners not straightened out and the stitching showing not tight for a clean finish.

Cushions are comfortable
Comments about Product:
Comfortable and easy to keep. They do get wet in the rain but dry quickly when the sunshines. The pattern goes well with the lime green chairs and all my flowers and plants.

Absolutely perfect!
Comments about Product:
These cushions are for my 6 high-back teak chairs. They are thicker than the ones I got from Plow and Hearth some years ago. And, consequently, they are more comfortable. Also, the fabric is more durable and practical for a back yard. I am totally pleased.

Look at dimensions of chair and cushion
Comments about Product:
Should have looked at depth of cushion more closely. Were too bulky for white resin table chairs. Would be great for larger chairs. Was given a gift card from another purchase from Plow and Hearth which paid for this.

Excellent quality an thickness !!!
Comments about Product:
We use these cushions in the chairs that belong to our glass table that is on our screened porch. The green matches the green that is in our cushions which we have on our old white wicker furniture, cushions of green and white. Lovely testure, color and comfortable!!!! Have always liked Plow and Hearth's products. Can't beat the quality of merchandise and price.

Classic Trapezoid Chair Cushions
Comments about Product:
Our new dining room chairs came with cushions that stained extremely easily & were rather fragile, so my wife went searching for a better solution. I don't even want to think about the assortment of different cushions that came through our home as she went to every place in town that carried this sort of item! NO JOY!!! Finally she started thumbing through several of her "home things" catalogs. The P&H offering seemed to her to be a good possibility and she was right. They look very nice yet are stain-resistant, durable and comfortable! And they are an excellent valu for the dollar! The only thing that MIGHT be better would be custom-made! We are very pleased!

The Olla: A Brief History

Olla (Spanish, pronounced “oh-ya”) jars have been around since ancient times. Made of unglazed ceramic, ollas traditionally have short, narrow necks with wider bodies, and are made in a variety of shapes. They have been used for thousands of years for cooking, storage, and plant irrigation.

When used to irrigate plants, an olla is buried neck-deep in the ground near a plant’s roots, with the opening of the olla extended above the soil so that it can be filled with water periodically. The porous walls of the unglazed pottery allow the water to seep through gradually, constantly and consistently hydrating the plants without overwatering them – and without wasting precious water to evaporation or runoff.

The use of ollas for irrigation was introduced to the American Southwest by Spanish conquistadors during Colonial times, becoming very common among Native American tribes and Hispanic settlers. Though the technique gave way to more modern methods of irrigation some time ago, its superior efficiency, coupled with its simplicity, has caused it to make a comeback. Though the technique has changed little since its introduction, today’s ollas are usually capped off, making them even more water-efficient.

Perfect for home gardens, Ollas are a super-easy, eco-friendly, less time-consuming way to water annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and plants of all kinds in dry, sandy soil, very hot or drought-prone areas, raised beds, and even pots, planters and hanging baskets. Fill the olla before you leave on a short vacation to enjoy worry-free watering – and a smaller water bill!

How it Works:

Water is pulled directly through the terra-cotta!
