THIS PRODUCT IMPROVES THE APPEARANCE OF MY STONE FIREPLACE AND INCREASED HEAT PRODUCTION BY ABOUT 5 DEGREES, NOT TO MENTION REFLECTED THE HEAT OUT FURTHER IN THE ROOM. I BOUGHT 3 AND AM TRYING TO ATTACH A FOTO OF HOW I HAVE THEM ARRANGED. I USE THEM WITH PH'S SELF FEED LOG GRATE. THEY BOTH HEAT UP, RETAIN HEAT AND ARE STILL WARM IN THE MORNING. DON'T WASTE MONEY ON THE MORE EXPENSIVE ONES UNLESS YOU JUST LIKE THE SIZE/DESIGN. THESE ARE SURPRISINGLY THICK AND WELL MADE. THEY DO TURN WHITISH/GRAY AFTER USE.

The fireback will not heat your entire house but you will feel the heat as far as 8 ft from the actual fire. Prices a little too you really don't need a decorative fireback shield you don't really see it.

description did not detail how much space this would take up because when you mount in the fireplace is uses 3-4 inches from the back. if the leg set was to hold it totally vertical it would be a better item. also the paint burned off after 3 uses

I was worried this would push the fire grate too far forward in the fireplace and increase smoke in the room. The opposite happened! The heat in the room really does increase noticeably and helps the chimney draw better. If funds had allowed, I easily could use a larger one, but this works great even in a large fireplace. Is perfect paired with the P&H Saf-T-Grate.

It is very heavy when delivered, so those with bad backs definitely need to get someone to help put it in place. I'm pleased P&H did not charge additional shipping fees for this heavy item, thanks!

I have a gas fireplace and the heat rarely radiated into the living room. After adding the fireback the heat radiation is appreciably better. Also, the look of the fireback is lovely and adds a nice touch to the fire place. I would recommend this to anyone who has a gas fireplace that needs to increase the heat out put into the room. It does work!

I use this fireback in our outdoor fireplace to radiate more of the heat outwards. Since installing, we have noticed a difference and I also like the look it gives to the overall appearance.

Installed into gas fireplace insert with fake logs because not enough heat was generated into room, all going up the chimney. No longer an issue, this fireback deflects heat into the room making it worthwhile to turn on the natural gas logs.

Oh how I would love a fireplace in my small home! While remodeling my kitchen a couple of years ago, I was looking for something unusual to use as a backsplash over the stove. This is perfect. I took it to a local blacksmith and had appx 5 inches cut from the bottom. Then had it fixed to the wall and bricked around. I get so many comments on my beautiful back splash!

This fireback fits perfectly in our medium size (think suburban) fireplace and while originally purchased to protect the deteriorating brick at the back, this really reflects the heat in to the room and helps heat the room!

We bought this fireback not only to protect our bricks, but our hope was that we would't lose so much heat up the chimney. It worked wonderfully; our living room was so much warmer and we not only enjoy our fires more, but enjoy them more often. Excellent!
