Bandstand Of Bears Plays 50 songs

Walk, dance or wave your hand near this trio of mini teddy bears and they will play music for you! These bandstand bears tap on the chimes as the set plays a mix of 50 songs. It includes 25 holiday songs and 25 songs for any time of year, so you can keep them out all year long. The bears are dressed in band uniforms and their base is a chime set with ornate details. This ornament stands 8-1/4”L x 11-1/2”W x 9-3/4”H. It is the perfect decoration for a mantle, table, desk or shelf. Uses a UL listed A/C adapter (included).

I was very excited when I ordered these little bears for my grandsons. When they arrived they looked great and the sound was good. However I found out very soon that they do not activate with motion and in order for them to play you must turn the switch to either Christmas Music or standard songs. There is a sound control but even at the lowest setting is still pretty loud. For me this was very disappointing as I wanted to put this in the foyer to surprise my grandsons. Also I thought it would be fun for arriving guests who come to our annual Christmas Eve Buffet. At present I am torn as to whether I will keep them.

I felt I had to write a review about this because I was misled by the product write-up. I had the impression these bears are motion activated to play- they do actually play their little xylophone, but the MODE of play is not motion-activated- it is OFF or CONTINUOUS. This was a problem for me because the lowest volume setting was still very loud, and the bears keep playing and playing. My little girls loved it, but I found it annoying and disruptive. Also, the base is very light weight cheap plastic (it does look nice, but it's plastic). The bears are lovely quality, but I would've preferred a wood base. I returned them.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
