Comments about Product: I really like plowand hearth have ordered from them before. This is flimsy and does not hold the kindeling. For the money go to a garage sale you will probably get something much better with less money. I would say its only worth half of what they are charging!!!!!! Again it's only this item.
Comments about Product: We had a narrow space for our outdoor fireplace. This is perfect! And very nice looking.
Wood burning log rack reveiw
Comments about Product: It's a sturdy and attractive. I would have preferred a hammered metal brown finish.

Should have read reviews first
Comments about Product: Very attractive in our formal-ish living room. Easy to put together
Very frustrated it will not hold the fat wood ordered from Plow amd Hearth! We tried to put a basket there but the movement caused it to fall. Not worth the price just for this flaw.
Comments about Product: fits outside our door.holds enough wood for a few days. looks great.

Comments about Product: The Log Rack fits perfectly by our wood stove and allows us to have the wood off the floor. I agree with the reviews of others about the kindling part of the rack. We ended up putting a piece of cardboard on the top rack to hold our various sizes of kindling. It was easy to put together and we are satisfied with the rack. Hope you enjoy, too!
Beautiful with one flaw
Comments about Product: Perfect but the area for kindling should have a shelf not just pipes to hold smaller kindling
Comments about Product: The bottom part of the rack holds split logs well. However, the upper portion that is made to hold kindling doesn't really work well because only full length pieces can be supported. There is nothing underneath the pieces if they are shorter to keep them on the rack. I ended up purchasing a wood bag from ANOTHER website to hold my kindling for the top of this rack. I was supposed to get a free wood tote with my order from P&H, but they never sent it and when contacted said they would not be sending it. So I took the rest of my business elsewhere.
do not buy
Comments about Product: holder was very flimsy
not at all what I expected
would return if not such awkard size

We love it!
Comments about Product: The rack works really well. As somebody said, the top curved rails can be adjusted for shorter pieces and kindling. The cover is easy to remove for loading, and the velcroed opening works fine for taking out firewood.
Works well, a bit flimsy
Comments about Product: This product fits perfectly next to my stone fireplace and allows a large quantity of wood to be used. It is nice to have so much wood indoors to finish drying out! But smaller pieces of kindling fall through the top portion, mostly because the curved lower rails move out and the wood falls through the middle. We will have to tie them together to keep them from wiggling as the mfr used screws that do not tighten. I am not particularly fond of the slight gloss black finish and would have preferred something more antiqued in my log cabin...we may scuff it a bit so it doesn't look so shiny. Overall, a big improvement in our fireplace strategy!
Comments about Product: Very attractive
Montebello Vertical Log Rack
Comments about Product: I use the Montebello Vertical Log Rack to hold approximately 20 logs used for my wood burnimng stove. Although it could be deeper by a few inches I find that it holds most of my logs adequately. However, the black underliner which I am assuming catches debris from the pile of logs is not deep or wide enough and so is virtually useless.
The design and the black finish compliment my wood burning stove perfectly. The Montebello Vertical Log Rack enhances the look of both my stove and its location.
Met with everyone's approval
Comments about Product: The rack is just the right size. Holds plenty of wood to keep my father from having to make repeated trips outside. My mother likes having the wood up off the floor -- it reduces the mess and keeps her wood floors from getting scratched.
Awesome for small spaces!!!

Nice, but needs some improvement...
Comments about Product: We purchased this item because we needed an attractive, indoor holder for our firewood. When we took the item out of the box, we saw that there were a few areas where the paint had chipped off. Being made of tubular steel, it isn't a heavy-duty item, but it's sturdy enough to withstand being completely full of wood. Our biggest disappointment was that the top section, which on the website is described as being used for kindling and fatwood, has too big of a gap in the middle, so the fatwood from P&H falls right through. Seeing as how the two curved pieces of steel up top can still move even once screwed in, we moved each piece towards the middle and used a zip tie to hold them together; now, they are separated just enough so that a decent pile of our fatwood from P&H can be stacked up there. Overall, it's an attractive, convenient, space-saving, indoor storage rack for our firewood.

The Olla: A Brief History
Olla (Spanish, pronounced “oh-ya”) jars have been around since ancient times. Made of unglazed ceramic, ollas traditionally have short, narrow necks with wider bodies, and are made in a variety of shapes. They have been used for thousands of years for cooking, storage, and plant irrigation.
When used to irrigate plants, an olla is buried neck-deep in the ground near a plant’s roots, with the opening of the olla extended above the soil so that it can be filled with water periodically. The porous walls of the unglazed pottery allow the water to seep through gradually, constantly and consistently hydrating the plants without overwatering them – and without wasting precious water to evaporation or runoff.
The use of ollas for irrigation was introduced to the American Southwest by Spanish conquistadors during Colonial times, becoming very common among Native American tribes and Hispanic settlers. Though the technique gave way to more modern methods of irrigation some time ago, its superior efficiency, coupled with its simplicity, has caused it to make a comeback. Though the technique has changed little since its introduction, today’s ollas are usually capped off, making them even more water-efficient.
Perfect for home gardens, Ollas are a super-easy, eco-friendly, less time-consuming way to water annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and plants of all kinds in dry, sandy soil, very hot or drought-prone areas, raised beds, and even pots, planters and hanging baskets. Fill the olla before you leave on a short vacation to enjoy worry-free watering – and a smaller water bill!
