Comments about Product: It is bright and beautiful on my fence. My only problem was the finish started to come off on my fingers. I sprayed it with a clear coat outdoor paint. Hopefully that will keep it beautiful.
Comments about Product: I hung this on my screened in lanai wall and it looks wonderful ! When the sun hits it, it shines with so much color...the indentations in the face adds character and interest to the suns face !
Comments about Product: put this outside in the pool area, nice for the money. Some have complained about the shading on the piece, but the mottled appearance gives it an aged character. Would porbably look tacky and not be as nice if it was a one demensional shiny piece.
Comments about Product: I was expecting it bigger according to the measurement, but it came a lot smaller and I had to use it on another small wall. Its very beautiful I just wish it was at least 3" bigger all around!!
Comments about Product: This is a beautiful and very affordable wall sculpture - we have it outside on our deck. It is cheery and attractive. I don't understand why some people are complaining about the cutout lines in the sun's face - I think they are a nice addition. Plus, this is so inexpensive compared to many wall sculptures I've seen! I've included pictures so others can see what the fuss is about.
Comments about Product: This arrived in fairly good condition. Only some slight bend on a couple of the rays, but not a big deal. The biggest flaw was the spray paint was messed up in a couple noticeable spots. A few lines in the forehead, but nowhere else. It's cute on the patio.
Comments about Product: Just like previous postings stated. I hoped mine wouldn't be like they described. The etchings in the face make it look below average. The picture is much better than the product.
Comments about Product: Exactly as pictured, great quality and beautiful finish, not flimsy at all. Shopped around and compared similar items, bought this one because it was both my favorite design AND least expensive! Love it, and would definitely recommend to anyone. Thanks for a beautiful item!
Comments about Product: I have to agree with the other review, I bought two of these suns (thinking they would have corrected the problem )and they both arrived with cut outs in the face UGLE squiggly lines not done very well. Definitley NOT AS PICTURED. Going to keep them as it will be too much to return it, very disappointed. Plow & Hearth normally has awesome quality and I am very surprised they let this go on. Would be a lovely sun if not for the ugly cut out lines in the face. Hard to recommend on this issue...
Comments about Product: We've been looking for a metal sun to hang outside by our patio but couldn't find any we liked until we saw this on line at Plow and Hearth. We are going to wait to hang it until next season as winter is approaching central NY. Therefore, we can't comment on maintaining it or how it will look after a season outside. We do know it will look great once we hang it and will enjoy looking at it. It feels heavy and well constructed and think we made the right choice.
Comments about Product: I love my new sun! I hung it outdoors on my bamboo fence...it truly does glow in the afternoon and evening sun. I could tell by the pic I would really, really like this, so I bought one for myself and two as gifts. Very happy with my purchase once again from Plow and Hearth.
Comments about Product: Looks great outside in the sun. Seems well made and heavy enough not to bend easily. The gold paint job is not as good as I would have liked it. I sprayed it with clear coat a couple of times to help protect it out of doors.
Comments about Product: I hung this up in our den in an area that does not get any sun light and it still lights up this area with just a dim table lamp under it. It would look equally great in a group wall arrangement with pictures, wall ornaments, etc.
Comments about Product: I agree with the review of "Clouds, No Sun, in Carolina". I must have received the one they returned. The color was not shiney and pretty but brassy. Also was not protected well in shipping and was bent. However I was able to bend the sun's rays back into shape. Would return this product but it's too costly to send back! Maybe some spray paint will help!
Comments about Product: We have the sun hanging on fireplace wall on the outside deck. We've had high winds, rain and it does not budge. We've had many 100 plus degree days and the paint is not flaking at all, very pretty, golden, shiny sunshine plaque! I love it.

Beware: NOT AS PICTURED
Comments about Product: I'd give this gold metal sun sculpture a higher rating, but it doesn't look the same as the photo you see online and in the catalog. I'm not talking about differences in surface finish - that would be understandable. Fact is, the object I rec'd had squiggly lines cut all the way through the metal on the sun's forehead, cheeks and chin. These ugly lines do NOT appear in the photos. If they did, I would not have purchased it. The lines totally ruin the look of the piece. Basically, someone ruined a perfectly acceptable sun sculpture by doing a poor job of etching ugly lines into it. As you may guess, it's going back, pronto. I'm surprised the person who reviewed this item earlier didn't mention the glaring diff. between the photo & what he/she actually rec'd. I'm not happy, because now I'm going to have to pay [...] on an object I wouldn't have purchased if the photo had been true to reality. There. I'm done kvetching...
Comments about Product: [...].The size is great for my small bath area.It is difficult to find many items in the gold color.Glad I ordered this.Am purchasing one for my friend's birthday. It was a little more yellow gold than expected, but it still look good.

The Olla: A Brief History
Olla (Spanish, pronounced “oh-ya”) jars have been around since ancient times. Made of unglazed ceramic, ollas traditionally have short, narrow necks with wider bodies, and are made in a variety of shapes. They have been used for thousands of years for cooking, storage, and plant irrigation.
When used to irrigate plants, an olla is buried neck-deep in the ground near a plant’s roots, with the opening of the olla extended above the soil so that it can be filled with water periodically. The porous walls of the unglazed pottery allow the water to seep through gradually, constantly and consistently hydrating the plants without overwatering them – and without wasting precious water to evaporation or runoff.
The use of ollas for irrigation was introduced to the American Southwest by Spanish conquistadors during Colonial times, becoming very common among Native American tribes and Hispanic settlers. Though the technique gave way to more modern methods of irrigation some time ago, its superior efficiency, coupled with its simplicity, has caused it to make a comeback. Though the technique has changed little since its introduction, today’s ollas are usually capped off, making them even more water-efficient.
Perfect for home gardens, Ollas are a super-easy, eco-friendly, less time-consuming way to water annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and plants of all kinds in dry, sandy soil, very hot or drought-prone areas, raised beds, and even pots, planters and hanging baskets. Fill the olla before you leave on a short vacation to enjoy worry-free watering – and a smaller water bill!
