These authentic Irish Fishermen's Sweaters were originally developed to stand up to the bone-chilling weather of the North Atlantic, so you can be sure they're very well made and oh-so-warm! Made of 100% wool, they’re full-fashioned in a cable knit so you can wear them for a night on the town. Knit seams for long-lasting durability. Made in Ireland.
Comments about Product: This was a gift from my husband, but one I picked out. I have always wanted a nice warm Irish knit sweater. I absolutely love this sweater and I am very happy with it. I should mention that I am tall and the length of the sleeves is great!
Comments about Product: Made a great Christmas Gift for my wife.

Comments about Product: This is a Christmas gift for my mother, who is always cold. Her old, thick wool cardigan finally bit the dust and this looks like a perfect replacement. It's thick and well-constructed, has a warm collar and pockets, and is made of real old-fashioned wool, not the softer, lighter merino (which is not as warm). You'll love it if you don't have problems with wool and itching. Very hard to find sweaters like this any more! Thanks P&H for the pre-holiday sale, which was a big help with the price. Please bring back the denim blue, my mom would have loved that - I got the grey as a substitute. It is a very dark color, hoping she likes it.
Mom wanted a thick, warm sweater
Comments about Product: Mom having trouble finding a sweater that actually keeps her warm. I knew as she is Irish she needed a classic Irish sweater. This was perfect in warmth, style and price!
By disappointed with policy not sweater
Comments about Product: It fits beautifully - I am very happy with the sweater. However, prior to receiving it I was sent an e-mail about free shipping. I wish I had waited a few days prior to purchasing it. I feel your policy is ambiguous and not fair.

This sweater is the REAL thing

Loved the warmth.
Comments about Product: I purchased the blue one and love it. I wear it in the house as I keep the temp low in winter to conserve heat. Very cozy and looks great. I am 5'8" and fit is good.

Great for cold PA winters

In the winter it will keep me toasty inside and in warmer weather I will wear it as a beautiful layer outside! This sweater is beautifully knitted of fabulous wool.

LOVE THIS SWEATER
Comments about Product: Love the sweater, wish it came in tall sizes.
This sweater's a keeper
Comments about Product: This is a very warm and attractive sweater. I wear it outdoors as a layer under a parka or coat and it helps beat the Colorado mountain cold and snow. You will have to wear a turtleneck under this sweater. It's not meant to wear against the skin. On a cool but not cold day, it's great as outer wear.

What a treasure!!
Comments about Product: This sweater was purchased for my husband on the eve of our 30th wedding anniversary. He still has his boyish good looks at 60, the same as he did at 30 when we married just prior to Valentine's Day all those many years ago. The sweater is a classic, with a special pattern that is knit by the Irish women for their men going off to sea-talk about Romantic. My dream is to take him to Ireland wearing this good looking Plow and Hearth sweater. Thanks guys, you made my day and his with this lovely Irish sweater. Bravo!!Excellent quality and timelessness.

Comments about Product: I bought this sweater as a Xmas present for my Mom and she just loves it. She wears it over a corduroy shirt and pants and even has worn it out to dinner with a skirt. She has gotten quite a few compliments on it already. She has had it cleaned twice and it still looks great. It is just the right weight, not so heavy that it's bulky, and not so light that it looses it shape.
I would buy this product again.
Comments about Product: I used less heat all winter and wore the sweater to keep me warm. I get comments every where I go on how lovely the sweater is. The cable stitching is very noticable.

Great winter addition
Comments about Product: This vest was great for wearing around the house. It added just enough warmth with no bulkiness and able to move around with no constrictions.
The reason for not rating a full 5 is because I would have the overall length be shorter. It is a bit too long for a short person and therefore I did not wear it to work this winter. And sometimes can be a bit itchy.

The Olla: A Brief History
Olla (Spanish, pronounced “oh-ya”) jars have been around since ancient times. Made of unglazed ceramic, ollas traditionally have short, narrow necks with wider bodies, and are made in a variety of shapes. They have been used for thousands of years for cooking, storage, and plant irrigation.
When used to irrigate plants, an olla is buried neck-deep in the ground near a plant’s roots, with the opening of the olla extended above the soil so that it can be filled with water periodically. The porous walls of the unglazed pottery allow the water to seep through gradually, constantly and consistently hydrating the plants without overwatering them – and without wasting precious water to evaporation or runoff.
The use of ollas for irrigation was introduced to the American Southwest by Spanish conquistadors during Colonial times, becoming very common among Native American tribes and Hispanic settlers. Though the technique gave way to more modern methods of irrigation some time ago, its superior efficiency, coupled with its simplicity, has caused it to make a comeback. Though the technique has changed little since its introduction, today’s ollas are usually capped off, making them even more water-efficient.
Perfect for home gardens, Ollas are a super-easy, eco-friendly, less time-consuming way to water annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and plants of all kinds in dry, sandy soil, very hot or drought-prone areas, raised beds, and even pots, planters and hanging baskets. Fill the olla before you leave on a short vacation to enjoy worry-free watering – and a smaller water bill!
