Lima Bean and Pears
Ingredients
1 pound large dry lima beans
1 29-ounce can pears
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup brown sugar
Salt and Pepper

Directions
Cook beans according to the directions on the package. Pour off liquid. Season with salt and pepper. Drain pears, reserving the juice. Mix the juice with the melted butter and brown sugar. Stir this mixture into the beans and place in a 9 x 13-inch buttered casserole. Place pear halves on top.
Bake 1-1/2 hours in a 325° oven.

Serves 8
