Lazy Daisy Oatmeal Cake
1-1/4 cup boiling water
1 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup soft butter
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 tsp. vanilla
1-1/2 cup flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
2 eggs

1/4 cup melted butter
3 Tbsp. evaporated milk
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
3/4 cup coconut
1/3 cup nuts

To make cake, pour water over oatmeal. Cover and let stand.

Beat butter until creamy. Gradually add sugars and beat until fluffy. Blend in eggs and vanilla; stir in oats.

Sift dry ingredients together. Add wet mixture and mix well. Pour into greased 9-inch square pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-55 minutes.

Mix together topping ingredients. Boil until bubbly. Spread over cake.
