Beautiful rug! I purchased this rug with the brown boarder. It kept us warm all winter long. We have three youg children and they spend most of their thme on the floor and we had no complaints from them. This rug is not good if you have cats as it does pick rather easily.

I bought a hearth rug for my dauughter for Christmas last year. I loved it so much that I wanted a new one for my fireplace as the old one was burnt and showing its age.

I especially like the muted colors. It looks great against the brick fireplace. The curling edges are not that much of a problem. Putting weight on them helps. All in all, my husband and I are very pleased with the rug.

Lovely thick fireplace rug
Would buy this rug again!

Great colors & even greater is that I got the 3 extra needed rugs on sale! Very Thick & easy to vacuum if you make sure your beater bar does not come within 4" of the edge. Smaller rug curled on one corner: quick fix was turn rug over & let is "lie" flat for few days & vacuum the back side.

Bought this rug several years ago in the 8x10 size for my formal living room and have been really happy with it. I have 2 dogs and the rug looks as good today as the day I laid it down. I would love to buy a second 8x10 but that size has been discontinued!

I ordered the semi-circle rug but got the rectangular version. I didn't hate it so we just kept it. It's fine.
Nice and Thick Hearth Rug

This half round version is now installed in front of our fireplace. Not sure about its long term durability, but it is thick and well made with a heavy backing and thick wool top. Have not had a hot ember fall on it yet, so do not know how it will hold up. Wool usually does well, however. Good colorful design, goes well with furnishings. Good value for the price.

LOVE THIS RUG
By PLOW AND HEARTH FAN
WE PURCHASED THIS RUG 3 OR 4 YEARS AGO AND I STILL LOVE IT. IT WAS ON SALE AT THE TIME WHICH WAS A PLUS, BUT IT IS AN EXTEMELY WELL MADE AND VERY ATTRACTIVE RUG. IT REALLY COMPLETED THE ROOM.EVEN AFTER ALL THIS TIME ITS STILL A STAND OUT. THE ONLY CON IS THAT ITS BAD TO SLIP OUT OF PLACE AND HAS TO BE AJUSTED NOW AND THEN. AM NOW LOOKING AT THE GEORGETOWN RUG FOR THE DEN. WISH IT CAME IN BURGANDY.

We have this in our living room. It seemed so soft to stand on, but when i sit on it to play with my son, it is scratchy. We still love it. Very pretty design. Appears to be very durable.

I placed this rug just inside my entrance door where the beautiful colors show best. It has been there for only a short period, but I have found no reasons to be disappointed and every reason to be happy with this purchase.

Plush but color not true to photo
By Farmhouse Mom

The rug is lovely and is perfect for the base of our staircase as I had planned. I ordered the red one but it's more brown than red. It's still attractive and works with the colors of our house but I would have liked the color I saw in the photo.
sheds initially but great quality

I was surprised how beautiful this rug was. It looks like it's handmade as the loops follow the pattern. This rug shed - a lot, when I first got it. Especially when a couple of dogs had a field day on it. Now that I've had it 3 months, it's not shedding anymore. Some good vacuuming took away all the loose fibers. I find myself staring at it while I drink my tea. Very pretty and seems very well made.

About Me Bargain Hunter, Color conscious, Practical
I purchased this to go under my kitchen table and before purchasing, I read the reviews and many said that the edges curled and that the loops pulled out. The edges did not lay down immediately, but did relax after a few days and I also used rug tape to hold them down - no problem now. When I vacuumed it I just did not use the strongest suction and haven't had any problems at all. I am very pleased with it and it is a very thick rug and although not as soft as others might be, it is very comfortable under my feet. I'm enjoying the soft colors because it doesn't command a person's attention immediately, but is part of larger decorating scheme.
Perfect hearth rug
from Middlebury, CT
About Me Perfectionist, Practical
This rug is perfect in front of our wood stove. The wool is thick and cushy; seems to have a high lanolin content. The corners laid flat within a day or two of the rug being unrolled, unlike other rugs I've bought. The colors are great for many different decors.

I was extremely disappointed when I noticed the carpet fibers were coming out around the edges after only having the rug for less than 60 days.

Used this in front of patio door in hard to fit area. The colors are so subtle that they blend beautifully with other furnishings. Nice quality binding and well constructed overall so no worries about undue wear. Have had compliments on it with my first guest.

Exactly what we wanted. Workmanship, style, coloring and durability, perfect. We keep coming back to P&H.
I use this rug in front of wood stove on carpet floor. Nice thick rug is easy on the knees when kneeling to clean stove. Little curling at edge -hopefully relaxes over time. Does resist burn marks from stray embers. Would recommend.

not the typical

About Me High-End Shopper, Practical
I love the burgundy colors/grays of this style rug! I was looking more for "oriental type". When it says "hook & loop" weave that means it is more like a "Colonial Hooked Rug" rather than a true Oriental weave. Wanted to buy other sizes, however with Vacuum pulling the loops up and the "hardness" of the wool used I will not, nor will I return it to P&H. In item descriptions, the country where items are imported should be listed! I had called before purchasing. (Glad it was not made in China!!!!)I will go elsewhere to find American made "hooked" rugs in the future

We like the rug, so far, but can't comment yet on its durability, as we've only had it a couple of months. It curled up at the edges at first, but at the end of the first 2 weeks, or so, the edges lay flat. If you plan to use this rug in an area where a door will swing over it, make sure the door has lots of clearance, as the rug is quite thick.
