The idea of helping a giant Redwood tree to grow appeals to me. They are some of the most beautiful and incredible trees in the world. So, I received my little starter tree...the package said it was already between 2 and 6 years old. It's still quite small but I have planted it in a 5 gal container and so far, it looks happy and healthy. At some pont, it will have to be moved to a larger area so it can continue on its long journey to adulthood.

I bought 3 different tree seedlings, I took them to a nursery had them planted in seperate pots they all died, do not know why

Having been born and raised in Northern California, I lived among these glorious trees most of my life. Having moved to Virginia a few years back, I truly missed seeing these about me. I searched the Internet on all the sites I thought would carry them but to no avail. Then, one day, while checking our own website, Plow & Hearth, I found this one... right under my nose!

They are a true wonder of nature, and I will treasure mine!

Good idea...

We gave this as a gift at Christmas. We and the other family had been to California and loved the Giant Sequoia we saw there. This was not too expensive and is now growing in a pot. It is still living, but even if it doesn't make it as long as California trees, it was a great avenue of remembering and laughter during the holidays.
