I bought for Christmas gifts and one for myself. My sister had had one for years and thanks to Plow & Hearth I and my entire family now have one. Someone suggested they prefer unshelled peanuts to pistachios, that would make a nice variation.

I hoped the basket would have been a little heavier in the quality. I placed napkins in the bottom to catch all the bits that fall through the weave. All in all, I would buy the basket again. Great gift!

I like the second basket for the nutshells. Unfortunately, the debris falls thru the basket weave. I gave this as a gift. I suggest it would be better if it were larger and the baskets were lined with plastic.

I always send these Pistachios as a gift to my son's in-laws in Texas. They seemed more of a special gift in the burlap bag-just my opinion.

I love to put this out for my guests. In the past, I always had to put out a companion bowl for discarded shells. Now, it is compact and attractive. Only complaint...when you remove the basket, some shell remnants remain on the table. Other than that, it's a real winner!

I purchased this for my husband as a convenient place to put the shells, however the open weave of the basket does not keep all the shells and pieces inside. I lined 1/2 with foil so now there is less mess on the table

This double container, allowing the whole nuts to be put in one side and the to-be-discarded shells or hulls to be put in the other, is a great way to serve nuts in the shell and have a lot less mess everywhere...added to the "presentation factor" of the gift as well!

Its a great basket. We use it all the time for snacking. It can be a little messy, some of the skins come through the bottom of the basket, but we put a napkin in the botttom of each basket and it solves the problem. Very economical. Received as gift and will buy more to pass around to the family. We love it.

Nuts, nuts, nuts! Great for nuts that have shells. Put it between your legs and go to town. Saw the same exact thing in other catalogs for a lot more. I bought 7 as gifts and filled them full of pistachos.

The weave on the basket is too loose for it to catch the flaky bits of the pistachio skins, so you end up with a mess anyway. I bought this because it was half the price of a similar basket sold elsewhere but it seems to be a cheap knockoff.
