I use this on top of a freestanding pellet stove. As a steamer/humidifier it works great. I was disappointed to find mineral / calcium lines on the outside of the pot...it actually looks like hairline cracks. I'm able to wipe the lines off with a cloth so when it is sitting on the stove (not in use) it still looks good. Hopefully the lines won't get worse or rust like another reviewer mentioned. I love the look and was excited to put this beautiful red trivet and steamer atop my wood-stove......but as careful as I am about moving it, the top of the steamer has several chips. I do not believe that the enamel was baked on properly.

This is a great cast-iron steamer. I like the open top that lets the maximum water vapor get into the air. The red color is great and adds variety to the cast iron stove appearance.

I bought the small steamer in red. It's durable and sturdy. Wish they came with safety grips, or rubber grips. Wish I had ordered the bigger one. Does a nice job!

I needed something to keep my cast iron water pot off the top of the wood stove. This trivet was just what the doctor ordered, its just the right size for my pot and it keeps it off the surface of the stove. It prevents rust marks that form under the pot my stoves surface looks good as new. Just perfect!!!

Had one for wood burner at home. Now have a wood burner at the cabin. I like to put in spices or apple peelings to add fragrance to the house or cabin. It adds some moisture to the dry winter heat.

No matter how careful we tried to be with our steamer and stove, there were waterstains, mineral lines, and scratches on the stove. The trivet does a great job of separating the steamer from the stove.

I use this steamer on my small gas stove to add humidity to my downstairs room since the stove has a tendency to dry out the atmosphere in the area. It's heavy duty and no worry about it sitting on a HOT surface.

I've owned the steamer for several years but this year, after re-painting the top of my wood stove, I added the trivet to protect the stove's finish. It did a wonderful job and by the end of the season the stove still looked as good as new. Thanks for a great product.
