I had an entirely different idea of how I was going to use this screen. Once I unpacked it, I found the quality of the workmanship not what I've come to expect from Plow & Hearth. The welds on the screen that hold the dog design were all broken. I don't think this happened in the shipping because it was very well wraped and packed.

It looks great but the screws dont screw the legs in very well. I had to have my husband really knock it in the whole. Paint came off a little where we were screwing the legs on. The legs don't fit in the width of my fiepalce so I have to have it sit out from the fireplace. It looks very nice though and I'm still glad for the purchase.

Beautiful pop of metal against the fire

Really pretty black iron with that pop of coppery colored dog. It goes great in our log cabin with our copper accessories. Really nice, although we did have to remove the back legs because of the fit of our custom fireplace. It sits flat against the hearth and I love that. Our old one was a three piece folding screen that took up alot of room. We are very pleased with everything from Plow and Hearth.

Great colors, design and quality built

I have a raised hearth (can sit on it), so am contemplating getting rid of the side "stands". My idea is to cut off the screws that affix the stands to the screen, then use velcro tape to affix the screen to the travertine fireplace stone, just to make sure it won't fall down.

But really happy I bought it - looks great.
