Comments about Product: These sheets are adorable!! These sheets say to wash in cold water and to dry flat or hang to dry. I find this almost impossible in the winter. I have washed them once, and they are already piling. I did put them in the dryer, but only for a short time. Also, we are dog lovers, and our dogs sleep in the bed with us, so I like to wash sheets in hot water. It will be interesting to see how long they last. Having said all this I would probably buy again..

Comments about Product: I bought this quilt 2 years ago and I still love it. My quilt has not faded, don't understand other people having trouble. I wash in cold water with gentle soap, no softner.

quality of sheets could be much better
Comments about Product: The tread count is too low for the cost, it looks and feels cheap. It's a shame, because the Labrador dog design is nice!
The sheets are very soft and cute too !
Comments about Product: They look great on our bed very cute !
Lab Queen Sheets
Comments about Product: The sheets are very soft and high quality.
Comments about Product: I bought two of the twin quilts for our grandkids room at our cabin. They just couldn't be any cuter! I haven't washed them just yet, but I will make sure I lock in those beautiful colors by adding some vinegar on the first wash. The quilts aren't super heavy (which I like), and in the winter, (snow on the ground) I just add a blanket to the beds, and it keeps them warm and cozy. I love that it is a revearsable quilt, and in fact, couldn't decide which side to use when I first put them on the beds! First chance I get, I will add a picture. If you are looking for a great quilt for a decent price, I would recommend this to others.

Comforter set fades
Comments about Product: I was really looking forward to putting this comforter set in my extra bedroom which is the Lab room. I was so disappointed on how much it faded after one washing. Instead of the nice red color being vibrant it looked like it had been washed multiple times.
Comments about Product: I bought the entire set of comfprter, sheets and matching window valances. The flannel sheets are a real disappointment - they were not very plush to begin with and when you hold the fabric up to the light, you can see between the threads - not a tight weave at all. I don't expect these to last very long. Not up to Plow and Hearth's usual standard.
Flannel Lab Sheets
Comments about Product: After 2 gentle washes, pills are evident and the sheets are not as soft.

Comments about Product: I bought the queen size bedding set and a throw pillow. Did not buy the quilt. I love the set and the fit is terrific for our bed with needs the larger pockets. I have only washed the sheets once and did not find any fading as some of the others have. My only complaint if I had to make one, is that the fabric is not as heavy as my older fannel sheets but that is perhaps to be expected. Other then that I love the set. However I will be disappointed if it starts to fade with further washings. I appreciate the reviews and made my decision to purchase the set from them.
Don't wash it!
Comments about Product: I have labradors and had to order this blanket set. I love the design, but it washes terribly! I have washed it twice and the coloring has really faded - 2 whole shades! I've never washed anything fade to this extreme before. Pretty much upset and I can't send it back. I think this catalog's buyers should have done a wash test before placing this in their catalog. A big disappointment.
Comments about Product: I got these to go with the plaid/lab quilt - called to order, and still wasn't sure they'd be deep enough - was told 15" - and that is true to size - fit our deep pillow top king just great.
Additionally, I am known as the hot flash queen - and was worried about how hot I'd get with these-they're warm but allow heat to disperse just fine! GOOD STUFF

The Olla: A Brief History
Olla (Spanish, pronounced “oh-ya”) jars have been around since ancient times. Made of unglazed ceramic, ollas traditionally have short, narrow necks with wider bodies, and are made in a variety of shapes. They have been used for thousands of years for cooking, storage, and plant irrigation.
When used to irrigate plants, an olla is buried neck-deep in the ground near a plant’s roots, with the opening of the olla extended above the soil so that it can be filled with water periodically. The porous walls of the unglazed pottery allow the water to seep through gradually, constantly and consistently hydrating the plants without overwatering them – and without wasting precious water to evaporation or runoff.
The use of ollas for irrigation was introduced to the American Southwest by Spanish conquistadors during Colonial times, becoming very common among Native American tribes and Hispanic settlers. Though the technique gave way to more modern methods of irrigation some time ago, its superior efficiency, coupled with its simplicity, has caused it to make a comeback. Though the technique has changed little since its introduction, today’s ollas are usually capped off, making them even more water-efficient.
Perfect for home gardens, Ollas are a super-easy, eco-friendly, less time-consuming way to water annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and plants of all kinds in dry, sandy soil, very hot or drought-prone areas, raised beds, and even pots, planters and hanging baskets. Fill the olla before you leave on a short vacation to enjoy worry-free watering – and a smaller water bill!
