Need this so badly!
Comments about Product:
I saw this at a neighbor's house when she hosted Book Club. I have little kitchen counter space so I bought this. I used it for my New Year's Eve party and loved it! So useful! I got several compliments and everyone wanted to know where I bought it.
It is well built and attractive.

looks good
Comments about Product:
The tray is just a little short of the width of my stovetop....but other than that, it is attractive and functional. Because it's not a perfect fit, I will not leave it out all the time.

Beautiful tray!
Comments about Product:
My family doesn't truly understand the sensitivity of a smooth cooktop. This tray allows them to set things on the stove without damaging the surface. For everyday use or entertaining...ie carry quite a bit out to the deck without return trips.

Great idea
Comments about Product:
Bought this mainly to cover my glass stove top to alleviate scratching. Seems lately that we are putting things on the stove top that don't belong - like the slow cooker (the outlet is handy on the stove) Don't know if I will use it as a tray - it is too heavy and 'bulky' in my opinion. Overall, I do like the looks of it - and it was very easy to attach the handles.

Add counter space quickly & easily
Comments about Product:
I was using an old cutting board on my stove during non-use times, until I saw this tray in the catalog. It brought my stove to a new level of class. It has attractive handles that are easy to install. (tools provided) I chose the black to match my stove, and it is beautiful! When I serve coffee to guests, it holds all the mugs, cream & sugar items, the coffeepot, AND dessert.

The Olla: A Brief History

Olla (Spanish, pronounced “oh-ya”) jars have been around since ancient times. Made of unglazed ceramic, ollas traditionally have short, narrow necks with wider bodies, and are made in a variety of shapes. They have been used for thousands of years for cooking, storage, and plant irrigation.

When used to irrigate plants, an olla is buried neck-deep in the ground near a plant’s roots, with the opening of the olla extended above the soil so that it can be filled with water periodically. The porous walls of the unglazed pottery allow the water to seep through gradually, constantly and consistently hydrating the plants without overwatering them – and without wasting precious water to evaporation or runoff.

The use of ollas for irrigation was introduced to the American Southwest by Spanish conquistadors during Colonial times, becoming very common among Native American tribes and Hispanic settlers. Though the technique gave way to more modern methods of irrigation some time ago, its superior efficiency, coupled with its simplicity, has caused it to make a comeback. Though the technique has changed little since its introduction, today’s ollas are usually capped off, making them even more water-efficient.

Perfect for home gardens, Ollas are a super-easy, eco-friendly, less time-consuming way to water annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and plants of all kinds in dry, sandy soil, very hot or drought-prone areas, raised beds, and even pots, planters and hanging baskets. Fill the olla before you leave on a short vacation to enjoy worry-free watering – and a smaller water bill!

How it Works:

Water is pulled directly through the terra-cotta!
