Comments about Product: Just got, trying to figure out how to hang. Hangers are not flush w/ wall. 10" o.c. so
will not hit a stud on both. Right now I am in a quandary.
It is built well but hanging mechanism needs improved.
Comments about Product: THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED. MY ROOM HAS THREE WALLS THAT ARE FILLED WITH ART AND I WANTED THE FIREPLACE WALL TO BE MORE OPEN. THIS PIECE PROVIDES THAT OPENNESS WITH IRON ART.THE WEIGHT OF IT MEANS ONE HAS TO BE VERY CAREFUL TO PUT SCREWS
IN WALL STUDS.
Comments about Product: Hangs on wall in my living room and looks very nice. Only bad points are the brackets used for hanging...as soon as I lifted it to put on the wall they broke off!! Lucky it happened then and not after hanging it as it is cast iron and could have done some damage falling. Had to improvise putting some bolts in the wall to hang it. Hangers need to be soldered on more securely!
Comments about Product: I am using this over my bed. The room is done in black and cream. I used a lot of pictures in the room and felt another picture would be too much. This piece worked in to the scheme perfectly.
Comments about Product: I put this above my fireplace. It can go anywhere though. I love the way it is 3-D and not flat. I am very pleased with this purchase. It is not flimsy. It is heavy but not too much.
Comments about Product: I saw this in the store and fell in love. This picture doesn't do it justice. Everyone who comes in our home comments on it,and it's not even on a main wall. The only thing I didn't like was that the holes for hanging were hard to get to. That moments irritation was well worth the end result.
Comments about Product: I took a chance on ordering this product due to the positive reviews and the comments of a P & H sales representative on the phone who told me she had seen the product. I am SO glad I purchased it! The wall hanging is beautiful and goes perfectly where I placed it (on a wall in my bathroom over the tub). It helps to bring a bit of nature indoors and looks MUCH nicer in person than the image on the Web site.
Comments about Product: The perfection of the 3-D Indoor/Outdoor Cast Iron Bird Branch Wall Art is awesome in every way, and delivered so quickly. Plow and Hearth have a new and dedicated customer. I'll be back!

The Olla: A Brief History
Olla (Spanish, pronounced “oh-ya”) jars have been around since ancient times. Made of unglazed ceramic, ollas traditionally have short, narrow necks with wider bodies, and are made in a variety of shapes. They have been used for thousands of years for cooking, storage, and plant irrigation.
When used to irrigate plants, an olla is buried neck-deep in the ground near a plant’s roots, with the opening of the olla extended above the soil so that it can be filled with water periodically. The porous walls of the unglazed pottery allow the water to seep through gradually, constantly and consistently hydrating the plants without overwatering them – and without wasting precious water to evaporation or runoff.
The use of ollas for irrigation was introduced to the American Southwest by Spanish conquistadors during Colonial times, becoming very common among Native American tribes and Hispanic settlers. Though the technique gave way to more modern methods of irrigation some time ago, its superior efficiency, coupled with its simplicity, has caused it to make a comeback. Though the technique has changed little since its introduction, today’s ollas are usually capped off, making them even more water-efficient.
Perfect for home gardens, Ollas are a super-easy, eco-friendly, less time-consuming way to water annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables and plants of all kinds in dry, sandy soil, very hot or drought-prone areas, raised beds, and even pots, planters and hanging baskets. Fill the olla before you leave on a short vacation to enjoy worry-free watering – and a smaller water bill!
