Purchased 2 of the beds as the dogs were headed to a kennel for a week. As soon as the beds were placed on the floor both dogs went right on to them and took a nap. I hope that they wash up nicely as I'm sure the dogs will want the beds inside with them.

This product is definitely not sunlight resistant. I've had this bed for less than 4 months and it stays on my deck. I live it a wooded neighborhood and it stays under the part of deck that is covered over top. Still, it has since turned an ugly brown red color on the plaid side of the bed. It's no longer the pretty green. Besides the color change, it has lived up to all other promises. My dog seems to really enjoy it since he does not care what color it is! I just had higher expections for the price I paid and the description of the bed on the site. Overall, I would give it a B-.

Comments about Plowhearth Indoor/Outdoor Dog Bed:
Bought one for my dog and one for the cat and they both use them. The cat loves it better than the dog I think. No problems getting them to use them either. Durable, easy to clean and the large one for the dog is the best bed I have ever found for him. He is a big boy and over 100 pounds.

Dog Bed is Perfect!!
from Ballwin, MO
I purchased the biggest bed and it is the perfect size for my husky/lab girl, Molly. She LOVES it, and uses it all the time. She has lower back problems and it seems to ease her pain. It's easy to clean and lightweight, so it's easy to move, too. I loved the price range, too. In fact, it's the first thing I considered, before I read the ratings. I highly recommend this product.
So far pretty good...
I bought the large size in the tan and it's big enough for two male Dobermans both weighing close to 90lbs at one year of age. They are siblings so they have always been together and are used to snuggling so this works out well. The filling is sparse and shifts easily but it creates a pillow for their heads and they like it. The large size is big enough for both dogs to lay fully out or curled up. The price is good so if they chew it up I can just get another one.
My dog loves it.

We have two Golden Retrievers and they love these beds! They are great to use outside and easy to move from outside to inside. Good looking beds, too!
excellent in every way

Great dog bed!
from Cov, Va.
The tag on bed says nothing about washing off with hose and soap. It says to wash in machine and dry in dryer. Also does not say it is mildew and moisture resistant. That is one of the main reasons for buying to be used outside all the time.

Have 2 shih tzu's that share this bed. Plenty of room for both so they're not on top of each other. Looks like they're very comfortable

My dog's favorite bed

I haven't figured out how to wash the large size bed but other than that, it's great. My dog loves it and it's a good bed for outside use although I don't keep it outside. Good value for the price.
This item is super; my dogs like it fine
from Friendship, Maryland
This product has proven a good buy for my dogs as this is the 3d one I've purchased for two different dogs. Both dogs were/are about 55-65 lbs; two older beds are outdoors and the new one is kept indoors. I find it a good buy and my current dog loves it -- or so it seems.
Great Bed, Need Another One!
from Des Moines, IA
I have 2 large dogs and 2 large cats. They all fight over it. It's first come first serve. If I can figure out a place to put it I will probably buy another one. One for the dogs, and one for the cats!

Large dog (124 lbs) limped after sleeping on his bed, but with this added to the elevated bed, his limp has gone away.

I've bought this a few times for our three Brittanys. It stays outside all the time; we throw it over the railing to dry out when it rains or if we hose it off. Even with that treatment and three busy dogs, they last a few years at least. We did have one throw away after the dogs tore it up, but I think it must have had a weak spot from being left out in the elements a couple of years. They don't normally even try to tear them (and they do on almost everything else). They love to sleep on them. When one dog gets up, another immediately takes his place because they all want to be there. Had two (enough for my 3 medium size dogs), so I'm replacing the one they destroyed so there will be enough room for all. They love this bed!

On day two, our English Mastiff put his toenails right thru the fabric. The beds go flat with a large dog. The return policy is difficult.

I now own three of these great dog beds!

I have purchased two of these beds years ago and put them in outside dog houses. They have held up with absolutely no tears. This one is for the house. It will probably last forever.
DOGS LOVE THEIR NEW BED
from FORT MILL, SC
OUR YORKIES LOVE LAYING OUT ON THE PATIO ON THEIR NEW BED. IT IS PERFECT FOR OUTSIDE BECAUSE IT IS WATERPROOF.WE JUST REPLACED OUR FIRST ONE AFTER 10 YEARS. WE USE IT ON A SCREENED IN PORCH AND IT MATCHES OUR FURNITURE.
This bed is now a dud!!!
from southern california
This bed used to be durably made. We had one kept outside for years. Then had to replace. The new bed faded immediately, so we returned. The second bed seams came apart after 1 month. Plow & Hearth replaced. The third bed came with seams already ripping. Had to have the bed completely re-sewn. I believe they now have a new manufacturer from the old one we liked so much. Will not purchase again.

Indoor/Outdoor Dog Bed is Smelly
from Boston, MA
We use one of these beds indoors and it works great. Appears to be fairly durable and the dog likes it! However, the one that we use outside has a strong odor. Even after washing it several times, we finally had to throw it away. We bought them both right about the same time, but the outdoor one didn't last very long. The indoor one is still holding up great. Although the cushion in the bed has held up, it actually sticks up so high off the ground, that my dog with bad knees trips over the edge sometimes.
I have bought this product many times...
from Warrenton, VA
I have two BIG labs and I purchase this product for their outdoor beds. My dogs just love their beds. These beds stay outdoors all year round and last a good 2 1/2 to 3 years with the weather conditions that we have before I have to look at replacing them because they are too shabby from the wear & tear.
Not exactly what I expected
from Chicago, Illinois
The product description states that this product can be washed with detergent and a garden hose so I expected a somewhat different product. The washing instructions on the dog bed state that it should be machine washed. I think that this may be somewhat of a problem because of the size of the product, but I will give it a try.

It's a beautiful product but it can't be cleaned in the washer! They suggest cleaning it with a garden hose and detergent. Not an easy task in the dead of winter. I'm very disappointed!

Not the best outdoor bed

The large is really big! Best for dogs probably 100+ pounds. My dog is 70 lbs. Medium would have been better.
The best outdoor dog bed ever!!
from Boalsburg, PA
we initially purchased our 1st bed 10yrs. ago... it truly stood the test of time and conditions. we kept it as an outside bed and it saw lots of rain and held up for many years. just last summer we replaced it... no question that we'd replace it with the same... and i'm just as confident that this one will follow in the first bed's footsteps. this bed dries quickly, and after being wet, carries no odors. it is the most inexpensive outdoor dog bed i've ever seen, and you'd think it would cost much more because of how effecient it is. you won't be disappointed!
Product hard to wash, too big.
from Walnut Creek, CA
This product really isn't washable at home. Too big. The insides get lumpy and uneven. Dog LOVED it at first, until the stuffing separated.
