  • Stay Organized, Beautifully

Our Homestead Hall Tree is the attractive solution for keeping everyday essentials neat and orderly.

You’ll like its fine furniture design with crown molding, contoured sides, raised panel accents and bun feet. But you’ll love the way it keeps things organized: four hooks hold coats, backpacks and more, while the bench storage section stores even more out of sight.

Perfectly sized, you can even use the top as a storage shelf. Great for hall, foyer, mudroom or entryway.

Hardwood solids and veneers with a rich, multi-step distressed warm oak finish. Antique brass finished hooks. Safety hinges on bench lid. Some assembly required.

Comments about Plowhearth Homestead Hall Tree:

I'm glad we weren't dissuaded by the comments about difficulty putting it together. If you have EVER put a piece of furniture together you will be fine. My 12 year old and I did it in about 60 minutes. Pieces fit together great, all pieces were labelled, all necessary hardware was included, plus extras. The piece looks great and is very functional.

Comments about Plowhearth Homestead Hall Tree:

      How I use the product:
We just remodeled our kitchen and needed a piece of furniture to put by the door coming into the kitchen from the garage. This hall tree matches the molding and color of our kitchen cabinet well.

Things that are great about it:
It looks good and is just the right size.

Things that aren't so great about it:
The contractor who remodeled my kitchen put the hall tree together for me. If you don't have any skills in carpentry I would NOT recommend you buy this. It came with a factory defect where the molding on the top had not been nailed and/or glued together. My contractor fixed that with a thin nail gun he had so that it wouldn't show once I touched it up with a furniture stain marker. There was also a big nick from shipping but luckily was on a bottom piece and doesn't show unless you are really looking. Last week the entire bench seat unit pulled out from the back of the hall tree. We had probably raised the seat less than a dozen times and we maybe sat on the seat twice. I called the contractor back to see if I would have to send this back to Plow and Hearth or if he could fix it. He was able to fix it and has now spent a good four hours on this one piece of furniture and he builds houses! The screws that hold the seat to the back are not long enough and the anchors are too small. Our contractor screwed the seat unit to the back of the hall tree from the back instead of the front and used longer screws. It should be fine now but I will not order furniture from the Internet again. I would not recommend you buy this UNLESS you have someone who can fix these issues. My contractor was impressed, though, with it being all wood and it is a pretty piece of furniture.

We ordered this for our in-law suite apartment and were pleased with the product. The color is more red than brown but very attractive anyway.

Comments about Plowhearth Homestead Hall Tree:

Finished product looks great. Comes completely unassembled and is definitely a two person project. It took us about an hour to put it together. The hinges on the seat/lid for some reason collapsed after a week with no weight on it but was easily corrected with some heavier bolts attaching it to the back. Overall we're very happy with it and it looks great in our entry hallway.

Handsome piece, a tad tricky to assemble

Comments about Plowhearth Homestead Hall Tree:

This coat rack/storage unit is, as advertised, a solid, well built, nicely finished piece of furniture that's quite functional and looks great in our entry foyer. Perfect for our house with a small coat closet and two tween-age kids with lots of jackets, sweatshirts, hats, bookbags, etc. P&H should honestly just say "Assembly required" instead of "Some assembly required," because you basically have to put together the entire thing. Directions are clear and straightforward, but be careful with those little cam locks, which, if over-twisted and not seated properly can break. Also, the spring hinges for the trunk lid are best connected by first fitting the lid onto the main unit and then screwing in the hinges to both sides of the lid and back spacer. Instructions tell you otherwise but I couldn't do it this way. I'm not a carpenter, but not a total spaz either, and it took me about 3 hours to assemble the whole thing. Still, very happy with the end result.

I am using this item in my hallway along with the boot so my children have a place to put muddy and wet shoes and boots. It fits against the wall and does not block hallway. The only problem was it arrived in a lots of pieces and took some time to assemble.
